*sigh* my artistic abilities are improving but I still have so much to improve on :/  It seems like I make a big improvement, then my work is shown in class and people are like "... ... ... uh, more lights and darks... ... ..."

Speaking as someone who is not great (but getting better, hopefully) at art, don't be disheartened. I couldn't (and still can't) get the hang of shading. The answer? Practice. Practice practice practice. If you feel you can't get it right, try pixel art or other digital art. Working small can help you get the hang of things, while there is a huge difference in working with digital art then with pencil and paper. As for those people? They're just trying to help. Nothing's perfect, and your improvements are still improvements. Keep going!

Today I realized many of my efforts over the course of this quarter have actively been sabotaging our group project despite best intentions. Then, later on in the day, I get an email that the company I applied for an internship at turned me down and I have no backups lined up yet.

Already upset about these things, I don't notice when I get on the wrong bus on the way home, ending up several miles off campus on a 1-way bus. 5 minutes later, the previous cold drizzle turns into a cold rain, which I wryly laugh off as unable to sink my spirits any lower anyway, despite having left my coat at home. Then it turns into freezing rain, with a little painful ice pellet inside each drop. 2 hours later, the next bus shows up to return me to campus. Between that and a few other things, this has managed to be one of the shittiest days I've had in a very long time.
