I am the grumpiest old man.  God I feel dead.

On the other hand I am drinking a soda and am about to go make my fifth origami box, so that's nice.

I know this is sad thread and this is sad, but the juxtaposition of the terribly sad and origami boxes is hilarious.

I tried to resolve my issue with my parents once again.
It failed and my mom did her usual yell and run into her bedroom.
My mom beleives she can make me work with no payment.
And she still dosent get the fact that removing me from the only thing making me happy wont make me less sad. Or that it isnt a good idea to remove the source of stability and meaning from a suicidal person.

Im not gonna tell them of my plans in fear of getting locked in.
They wont ever expect it. I wont even give them a clue. They can weep in their own ignorance

The best way to prove them wrong is to kick ass at life when you're free of them.  That proves more than anything else that they were wrong and holding you back.

Got my midterm for SciFi back today, and I fucked it up because I didn't follow the formatting guide. Professor is going to let me "expand on the work" to bring my grade up to no higher than a C. :\
Max, Y U SO DERP?
That sucks. But you get to write SciFi for midterms? Is that a normal thing that I don't know about, because it sounds pretty cool.

Unfortunately, that's not the case. I get to write 5 one page academic papers for my SciFi lit class.

Yergh. . . I was a month off on when I'm taking the GREs and it turns out that they're this Saturday, not at the end of April.

More oil on the fire!

Yeah, someone I know took it a few weeks back. Turns out after a day or two of study he was way overprepared. He sounded disappointed talking about it.

Just go in knowing your stuff well enough, and you'll do fine.
I studied for one, maybe two, evenings for the GRE.  I ended up in the upper 90 percentile for the Quantitative part, the mid-to-lower 90 percentile for the Verbal part, and a 5.5 on the Analytical Writing.  I think you'll do fine.

^^^^ This. You'll probably feel insulted when you do the Quantitative part, because 9/10ths of it is going to be really basic. Like, "I learned this shit in high school" basic. I was kinda disappointed in it too. Didn't really study, got something like 98th percentile on both. Only a 3.5 (out of 5) on the essay bit, but that was mostly because when presented with a "Here's a statement. Agree/disagree?" type question, I wound up arguing that the framework of the question was stupid.

Specifically, the topic was "It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. Agree/disagree, and support your argument."

My beef with that kind of essay on a timed exam like this is that it doesn't test your ability to write coherently, it tests your ability to come up with good-sounding rhetorical bullshit in a hurry (which I suppose *is* a crucial grad school skill...). My essay ended up arguing that the medium was less important than the shared experience and used Roosevelt's post-Pearl Harbor radio address as an example, and the moon landing broadcast as a counter-example.

So don't make the mistake of trying to argue both sides or argue outside the framework of the question. Other than that, you'll kick that test's ass so hard it will fly into an obstacle and explode into pieces.  :D

This is what standardized essays have come to—write a thoughtful essay and you get bad scores.

Actually.... Yeah, pretty much.

Also I, again, got chewed out in jail by an inmate client for the standard "not doing anything...." I've heard this too many times so I zoned out for a bit but could not find my happy place while he spewed unprintable things at me.... So after a while I finally just had to ask him if he wanted to keep on bitching or do something constructive. He chose bitching. Nevermind that most lawyers won't bother showing the hell up at jail for exactly this reason.

No no.... Let's not talk about how the prosecution needs to show the elements of 1.) Force, Stealth or Deception 2.) to enter an unoccupied structure 3.) with the intent to commit a theft offense to support a Breaking an Entering felony charge, and how I can prepare a defense against that. Na, let's have you bitch about stuff, and me along with everybody else instead, because that will get places.... Also let's bitch at the person who showed up to help you.....

Fabulous....

Ugh. Not feeling it this week.

Can't get creative juices running. All of the places I have frequented are completely solidifed in terms of activity. Feeling like every day is a repeat of the last with some differences. Probably usual teenage shit, but it feels especially stingy because a few weeks ago I thought I was doing okay. Can't these happy periods last longer then a month so I can actually work on stuff for longer then a few weeks? I hate feeling like this.

Then what you need to do is crash the gunship into one of the dreadnaughts, go on a rampage, kill everyone inside, then pilot the dreadnaught to crash into the second one, then take that one and blow a hole in the third.  I don't know how you would translate this into taking a test, but you should try it.

If you're a completely amoral douchebag you can be moderately financially successful.

They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.
