Yeah, but I generally think it was the right choice.  I got more control over the stuff I consumed after I'd managed to demonstrate reasonably good taste and erudition.

I hate to say this, but those images are really beautiful.

The images are beautiful, but that's because Detroit really is a hellhole. Sorry, Soli, but even I don't like walking in Detroit alone. Shit's fucked up there, man.

I suppose there's a point there, I liked some really horrible stuff as a child. But I always thought that was part of the fun!

From what I gather, Vector's parents were ultra-geniuses who gave birth to an Übergenius, and then started training her to take over the world through logic and mathematics at an extremely early age. See, taking over the world leaves little time for things like "fun", so it got cut out.

Power Rangers was banned from my house. Like Vector and Invader Zim, I don't particularly miss it.

Yeah, me too, but my mom was a bit of a hypocrite.
"R rated film? Sure! Power Rangers? No way, that's to violent!"

Heh, my mom was much the same way. Then again we didn't have many R-rated (or any, really) movies around the house.

I can sorta understand banning power rangers, for immature children who can't understand that the violence is fake and just for fun.

A blanket ban on cartoons is plain nutcakes. No rhyme or reason to it.

Ah, like that one philosopher dude who had a breakdown. Bentham, I think?

Hey now, I was very non-violent in my childhood. Still am, really; never once threatened someone with physical violence even in the rare cases where it happened to me.

Mom just saw a news reported and over-reacted a little. I was her first child; basically the guinea pig :P

I didn't mean to imply you were a violent kid or anything. I just stated the only logical reason I could possibly think of for banning power rangers. Your mother can, of course, have been acting illogical, for the reasons you stated :P

Being the first child is a shitty job, isn't it? Man, you have my feels.

Could be worse. In some ways, I'm the lucky one: Mom had two miscarriages before she had me.

But yeah, sometimes I wish I was second. Or hell, maybe even third.
