Cupcakes make me mad.  Let's be real, I'm here for the icing, not the cake, so why is the cake part taller than my mouth?  I eat as best I can and then the icing is gone and there's still an inch thick layer of icingless cake left.  Am I supposed to just throw that away?

Not comparable, since we're talking about a consumable, not something you keep for years. It's more like someone having a problem with a particular brand of blank DVDs and me suggesting a different brand. I didn't suggest he get a new digestive system.

You don't "repair" a cupcake and eat it again! Also, iced cupcakes and iced donuts are made of almost exactly the same stuff.

It can be, but effort must be made.  Plain cake with nothing else is basically just flavorless solid mush.  It's the indie rock of food.  If they add some flavoring, maybe mix in some sprinkles or something to give it a less uniformly boring texture, it can be good.

Maybe I'll invent a cupcake that has a layer of icing injected near the bottom of the cake.

I bought a Three Musketeers bar a few weeks ago for a dollar, it had 260 calories.  That's insane.  Maybe we need to get rid of candy altogether.  Close the nougat mines, between obesity and nougat lung they've done enough damage.
