It's raining today. Normally, that makes me happy.

Instead, I lost traction on the way to school. No crashes or anything, but it put a damper on the whole "driving in the rain is AWESOME" feel I usually get.

Then the shallow puddle I walked through on the way to class turned out to be nearly a foot deep. Hello, waterlogged socks and shoes-which-still-aren't-dry.

Finally, I was stuck in traffic for half an hour on the way back home, all because some guy lost control and pulled off to the side (not even wrecked, from what I could tell). Somehow that warranted two cop cars and several miles of backed-up traffic.

Ugh :(

Double penetration makes you sad?

I dunno. I think it's pretty hot.
Wait, aren't you...but how would that work with...you know what, I'm better off not knowing.

Science is experimentation. And there are all kinds of things to experiment with that are dirty, dirty.

Wife's moving ahead with the divorce. Thought we were heading in the opposite direction. FML.

Intellectually, I know this is probably for the best. Emotionally (surprise, I do have some)....just stab me through the brain and get it over with.

Science is a verb now?  A dirty, dirty verb?
Science:
  • The explanation of phenomena and how the world works using testable and explainable methods. (Unless shit gets quantum, in which case bring in the maths).
  • The solving of problems using this knowledge.

By extension; Bay12 slang includes the verb "to science!"
So if I/you/(s)he/we/you/they science, we are solving problems with great science!

Whatever the problem may be.

No exceptions.

*sigh* So today I took a maths placement test, it took me three hou- hang on a second.

Wife's moving ahead with the divorce. Thought we were heading in the opposite direction. FML.

Intellectually, I know this is probably for the best. Emotionally (surprise, I do have some)....just stab me through the brain and get it over with.
*hug*

Anyway, today I took a maths placement test. I spent the last couple of weeks sort of studying for it with a tutor, and having my parents reassure me a lot that if I didn't do well on the test that it wasn't the end of the world, which of course subconsciously convinced me that if I did badly everything was over forever! When I got there the people at the office were apparently convinced that because of my accent and nervous stuttering that English was my second language, and they had a kind of look on their faces that did not convey "We have massive amounts of faith in you."

I went in and started taking the math test, my internal narrative went something like this.
"Ok, so they're giving me basic algebra first, I guess that makes sense..."
Ten minutes later.
"Hmm, I think I remember this, basic trig right?"
Twenty minutes later.
"I err... what? I think I'm just going to plug numbers into the equation until I get something that looks like an answer."
Thirty minutes later.
"... Oh god how much longer am I going to stare at this thing? Just take a guess already."
Fourty minutes later.
"It's giving me basic Algebra again, is that bad? I THINK IT'S BAD!"
Fifty minutes later.
"Oh my god what are those letters doing to that poor exponent. I didn't even realise you could do that with a square root!"
Eventually...
"Ok, this one has exclamation marks on it. I don't think I've ever covered exclamation marks, I have no clue what they're supposed to mean. Are the numbers just being really emphatic about being in parenthesis?"

Shortly thereafter the test ended, and I did an English test which took like, ten minutes and I got near max marks on. By this point someone had come along and turned all the computers that weren't mine off, and I think they were starting to close the office down. I had been taking that test for three hours (I think most people were in and out of there in twenty minutes). Somehow I managed to test into calculus and discrete mathematics... But I'm really not sure I'm ready for them.

Excalamation points are factorials. IIRC, 5! = 1*2*3*4*5 = 120

Honestly, I never understood what the fuck the point was with factorials.
Oh, and thanks.

Factorials are important for statistics and risk calculations.
