Sad:  The gal I like is in a depressive self-loathing mood and doesn't want to live anymore (also 80-90% sure she doesn't feel the same way about me), I've got an exam in six days that has a 50% fail rate and I'm completely unprepared for it, and I think I may be getting kicked out of my apartment because I failed to renew the contract two months before the old contract expired or some shit.

For the ladyfriend, have you told her how you feel? I dunno what type of depression she has but maybe she needs some outside validation, and someone liking her that way is pretty damn good at that.

well my mother declared that my father will be going into disability in a couple of months, means ill lose my health insurance for sure and chunk of my wages will be going to keep us in the house, so much for my damn plans to get at least a car next year or fuck a motorcycle so the family can have the subaru again instead of me driving around.

Bipolar disorder = Routine periodic depressions.  At the moment, she barely wants to or is capable of talking to anyone, and the thought of me being romantically interested in her (again...  Long story) would only serve to have her interpret it as more social pressure and obligations.  At least as I understand it.  As previously mentioned, I might be able to expect her to be in usual active capacity sometime next spring/summer.

Also I'm mildly drunk at the moment.

Ah, bipolar. Yikes :X She has a therapist and possibly medication, right? If not, drag her off to one right now, especially if she's suicidal.

She has a therapist who refuses to discuss different medications than whatever the last prescribed one is (which she has been encountering negative side effects with, and has thus stopped taking in order to get attention from her therapist) and also doesn't believe or trust her, and she has a specialist doctor who prescribes her the medications but doesn't even know who she is or what he's supposed to prescribe her and is routinely 30 minutes or an hour late to his appointments with her.  She also lacks the money required to switch over to the private sector on both parts.

Bipolar means manic periods in addition to depressive periods. Or at least hypomanic.

And it means several standard depression medications can be hell.

If she doesn't have manic periods, it's just depression.

I'm also in a period where I've gotten a new psych who I don't trust, and have stopped taking my medication, but I'm also doing well at the moment.

Do you know what she's taking? If here doctor prescribes her what-the-hell ever, she could always just take control of what she's using and decide on what to try next (so long as she can find a way to get the required bloodchecks).

"Try it and hope nothing gets fucked up until something works" is the same approach the psychiatrists use, after all, so it doesn't sound like she could be doing much damage by taking it into her own hands at this point if possible.

She has hypomanic periods.  She got the bipolar diagnosis when she was 16, about six years ago.  And no, I don't know what she's taking.  All I know is that it's making her gain weight rapidly, which is hurting her self-image, and that she tried asking her therapist for a different medication and he didn't want to give her anything else because she was just "being unreasonable".

I want to strangle any therapist who says shit like that. No duh she's unreasonable; she's goddamn depressed! It's your fucking job to take inherently unreasonable people and get them back on their feet! You don't give well balanced people therapy! ARG!
