Here, Mike's is about 8 dollars for a six-pack.

Where do you live?  I wish to move there.

Is... is a bottle of alcohol really worth a week of food?

Yes.

Not to me. Hell, I rarely drink regardless of price or if someone else is buying.

Depends on the booze. ;)

A bottle of Smithwicks or Scrumpy? Yeah, occasionally.

I live in Kentucky, with some of the lowest liquor taxes in the country. A 6-pack of Mike's or decent beer (Leinenkugel's level) goes for $8-9, and decent liquor is $15-20 for 750ml (Smirnoff, Captain Morgan, Wild Turkey).

Suddenly, nausea! Had to leave work as a consequence. Bluh. Never done that before. Feel kinda bad about leaving in the middle of a shift.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I looked at UKIP's wikipedia entry.

I am saddened that loads of people vote for them. They want to lower taxes, and yet they claim they can pull enough money out of their arses to increase the size of the army, heavily enforce anti-immigration policies, evict illegal immigrants etc.

Seriously, if someone did SOME research, they'd realise that what they are promising is basically impossible.

UKIP - You agree with the BNP's policies except the explicit racism.

But the BNP do tons of funny shit too.
Like that time they were campaigning against Eastern European immigration, using a poster of a Spitfire that had belonged to 303 Squadron.

Might want to mention that that was a Polish-manned squadron, so it makes sense why that's absurd.

That information may have been pertinent to my post making any sense, yes.
They were also the squadron which shot down the most German planes during the Battle of Britain, IIRC.

Does anybody remember writing excuses? I mean, the website:

http://www.writingexcuses.com/

I've been desperately looking around for the one episode that gives a kind of inspiring talk to just get a person to just start writing. I want to write and be creative, but it's so pathetic that I just have a mini panic attack and I recoil away from the blank page when I try to start. Why? For alot of reasons.

Does anyone remember the name of the episode or where it is? I'm tearing my hair out trying to find it.

I don't, but Howard Tayler is an amazing storyteller.

HISTORY IS NOT BORING.
Well, US history probably is, but some day you might actually get proper history lessons :)

Right...  Because rebellion, civil war, underground resistance movements, assassinations and political scandals are only interesting in Europe.

I couldn't have phrased it better!
I'm an American, and its pretty fucking boring. Literally any other country is awesome to read about, but not ours. Maybe its because we're so young. :P
