Dude, you're not the only one with a messed up life. I'm 23, never been on a date (even though I talk big on the forums here :P ), only recently gained the motivation to move out, have almost 0 real life friends, and completed a 2 year college degree in 5 years.
Awww... I'll take you out on a date when I find my way to Seattle, if you're interested and not otherwise engaged by then. ^_^

But only if you buy me food from the giant pig tank. ;)

(Also, who knows how long it will take me. Maybe as much as a year and a half/two years. Hopefully less.)
Deal.

(by that time I won't be a date-virgin, as I have one set up already. Tee hee~ :D )

Don't worry. I've gotten past that. Besides, Life owes me a little too much, and just pulling the plug right now means I won't be able to collect my dues.

So yeah, I won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
Bolded part is actually a pretty good attitude for someone in your position.

Go out and punch the world into giving you what you deserve. (though don't really punch people)

My first date ever is coming on wednesday. I managed to get married (for 5 years) and divorced without ever being on a date. How fucked up is that?

Seriously, it's not a big deal, you guys. Just take a breath, and keep moving forward. You can make the world a better place, just by being in it. Your impact is felt every day by hundreds of people. They see you. They hear you. They know you. We know you. We love you.

What if they're in the process of robbing a store or attacking someone?

Challenge them to a duel right the fuck there. Mano mano.

Unless they have a gun or a knife. Then you run.

Y'know, in some places it's legal to openly carry a sword. If I knew how to use one, I would totally do that for this exact purpose :P

That's when I jump off the top of a building, hurtle downward at the speed of sound, and land on them fist first, leaving them in a smouldering crater.

(After I finish daydreaming for a second, I'll just punch them normal style, and wish I could do that.)

I would carry one just for the hope of one day being able to reel off a certain line from Crocodile Dundee.

Good gravy. I have a few swords that I would love to be able to carry openly. Doesn't hurt that I'm pretty well versed in swordsmanship, too. (Thank you, crazy Ninjutsu teacher!)

What are you supposed to do when your friend wants to get engaged and you know they're happy now but you're confident this isn't the best relationship for them permanently?

Yeah, so I talked to said friend about my feelings with this. The answer was pretty much "I understand where you're coming from." I was optimistic for a while, but now I'm pretty sure they're still making plans about this and hiding everything from me.

Then you've done all you reasonably can :(

Be there for him during the inevitable fallout.

If they've just decided to hide everything from me I'm not sure if I want to be there. They can find someone else they trust more. Someone who will tell them what they want to hear.
