Just played some classic Unreal Tournament again at my last settings I did not half bad with... Actually, I was mopping up the bots set on Godlike. I rocked at that game.
Now then... Since when did I begin to suck so bad at that game? I noticed this while playing Borderlands 2 as well. I hope I'm not losing interest in gaming. I don't wanna grow up.
Then again, I did also customize the bots, this time, to something more different than the default I usually battled against (thought the defaults on even Godlike were fun to battle). Sorta characterized them after a series of main characters I made for a story eons ago. Oh my goodness, they are hideously overpowered, and diverse in killing methods (all areas are covered, and I have an average death rate of 10 seconds of life). I bet I would still have a hard time fighting them even on an easier difficulty, even after battling them on the hardest.
As far as I know, to un-sadden a bit, I think I've been "playing it safe" far too much these days (to the point of being a bit of a personality flaw), thanks to having to be an ammo hoarder and conservative with my equipment when playing Fallout and Borderlands and most other games these days, and working towards a goal all the times besides "winning". I'll have to admit, shutting off the safety on my mindset, and just letting loose with the rockets, bio sludge, bullets, and so on... felt great being able to shoot as if I had an unlimited supply; sorta because I did, provided I knew where and when to collect them.
Now that I come and think of it; I think I've been on a poverty mindset for a considerable amount of time, on more levels than just games and real life finances, and didn't realize it until now. I need to do things where I feel like I have unlimited resources and control over things (while actually having the limits still; it just doesn't feel like it). I may need to play Doom or Roller Coaster Tycoon again, or finish my game of Starcon 2 where I already did acquire unlimited resources, and I have a battleship that can 1-shot most everything in it's sights, and make ease of Ur-Quans on it's own.
