A few days ago he said he was in detox.

For what it's worth, I hope it goes ok. And what was said above, prison is not a nice place to be in. Don't make the judge angry, he's the one holding the cards in your current situation.

Victim of the drug war.

This. I wasn't even a dealer, just a user in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Do you have a legal advisor or something? Can you talk to them?

The only legal advisor I had was a public defender, and she got me into this fucked up bullshit is a helpless cog in this tremendously flawed system.  :-\
And if everything went perfectly, which it hasn't so far, I'd only have to be on this program for eighteen months. But the way the courts are acting lately, e.g. Throwing me in jail for classes when I had my classes, telling me I wouldn't have to ua, then throwing me in jail for not ua-ing, I'm just going to get strung along for as long as they want, and then sent to prison for four months, then brought back, strung along some more, and eventually sent to prison anyway.

And how much money has the goberment wasted on you going after you already?

Prison has to be one onf the most expensive ways to punish someone, I am more of the view of making do work to benifit the country. The worse the crime you do the less safety you get. So mass murderers can have the shitty jobs that robots are too expensive to waste on. Those on death row can do the really dangerous shit. And crap like buying drugs get you made to work on educating people on dangerous of drugs and fact you are making some foreigener really rich. Save a fortune and up country wide production.

(No offense, L.I., but your spelling seems, erm... unusually impaired, in that last post. Is there something amiss?)

Touch typing, man! Learn it, love it. Though then you'll get tripped up by those crazy keyboards that switch the Z and Y keys.

Soon LI will also get his degree in Morality and Philosophy and migrate to the MSPA forums and become a bug.

Oh come on Loud, gotta repay society somehow, i rather make those guys work instead of being stuck in a box sucking on taxpayers. Now for dangerous jobs ok thats maybe volunteer with a quicker get out of jail card, but i mean they can definitely remodel neighborhoods, roadwork, NPS construction.... many things they can do instead of call centers

They already do work.  Prison is a profit industry now.  I'm not sure off the top of my head how much, but a disturbing portion of prisons are operated by private companies for profit.  Prisoners are free labor.
