I'm having trouble even finishing this issue.  You've done a lot of shocking stuff, but nothing that's come even close to hitting me like this.  You better have a satisfying as hell ending in the works for this new big bad.  I don't even know what else to say.  Fuuuuuuck

She's taking a lot of time off, and very rarely pops in for like, three minutes at a time to let us know that she's not dead yet.

Self-improvement sabbatical, is my understanding.

Yeah, although it's kind of looking like a semi-permanent thing. She said she might come round at the end of the summer to say hello one last time before she's off, not entirely sure if that's actually going to happen though.

But you know, whatever makes her happy and helps her in the end.

I hate guard duty

The local security places won't even let me apply for positions. Apparently, my martial arts background makes me overqualified to be a guard.

Think about that for a second. I fight too well, and too willingly, to be a security guard.

This guarantees a WTF every time I think about it.

Depends on what you're guarding I guess. Violence tends to come with lots of law involved. It'd probably take 9 blind Trueans to sort it out.

Yeah... Security Guard-ing isn't as fun as it sounds. You think it's all nightsticks and pepper spray, but in reality it's all insurance, paperwork and emergency calls.

Yeah, the only place that was willing to take me as a guard required me to have my own security clearance and gun. According to one of the other guards, the job was sitting in a lonely hallway drinking copious amounts of coffee.

They say if you listen closely enough, you can hear solemn guards in the distance... Pacing back and forth drinking lukewarm coffee in the dead of night...

Yeah, they didn't think I was overqualified. The guy who tried to get me in was a 4-times champion boxer, 5th degree black belt in Karate and TKD and taught combatives to Army Rangers for 12 years. He was also one of the nicest, kindest men I've ever met.

I have noticed that the 6' tall built like treetrunks could kill you with an eyelash people I know tend to be the nicest folks.
