There's a BIT more of a support structure in Canada for schooling, but I don't know how much of one. I haven't sat down and calculated how much I'm going to need to pay for it yet. :/

We definitely need to figure out a new way to set values on things. Scarcity ain't cutting it. Currently, the coffee mug on my desk is worth infinitely more than all the porn on the internet, which is plain wrong.

Hehe, almost everyone I know in Canada who wanted to get into med school had to go out of country to do it(usually to Australia for some reason).  Seems like a bad sign.

Here I honestly don't know  whether we are lacking doctors or are in excess. Likely both. On one hand, people finishing residencies are finding themselves unable to get a job in the country. On the other, our healthcare system is in sore need of more personal.

Anyway, I'm still broken after this night shift shit from yesterday Sunday. Pondering my next moves on this stuff

Honestly, I might very well move to Ireland or something. North America in general seems to... suck, lately.

Not saying Europe is much better, but if I'm going to be destitute with thousands of dollars of debt, I might as well do it in a place that looks pretty.

That's not a problem with the funding, that's a problem with the ass backwards system our medical schools are subjected to. There are a limited number of seats per year, per medical school.

Meanwhile, the rest of Canada wants them to get their heads out of their asses because we're currently facing a shortage of qualified doctors, so.

I love elderflower presse. (insert that weird french e with the line above it, instead of the e on the end)

so, my dad thinks that, to cool it down, he'll freeze it. He understands that water expands when it freezes, and that it is in a glass bottle.

what he forgot to do was take said bottle out of the freezer.

Pressè? or Pressê?

Reading fist of the north star. And wow are some parts sad.
EDIT: Although its simply annoying how pretty much every named villain had huge childhood issues that made him turn EVUL, and that deep inside they are all really good people. Why can't we just have some huge assholes that are super good at martial arts (and yes, I know regular evil people exist, but none of them are really big threats for very long at all, and only exist to get crushed by ken in like three seconds).

Because huge assholes who are assholes for no reason don't exist in real life. Well they do, but they're quite rare. Most your "unjustified" assholes just have issues of perspective (monkey spheres, etc).

I usually see good 'assholes' being able to develop the protagonists a lot better than any friend.

So orientation starts in two days, aaaand it doesn't look like I'll be going. My fault for not applying early enough, but still.

So it looks like I'll be job hunting again...

Karōshi basically japanese word for literally working your self to death.

was watching prog on japan and work destroying young people lifes and this came up. way I see it is you are working 16hr days 5 days a week, why are you doing work someone else could have. Why the employment problem if cutting hours means twice as many people working and off the unemployment list as well as then having a life.

I think I'm coming to the realization that I'm never going to have close personal friends that I really like and get along with ever again.
