All of my MP3 collection, a paltry 83 hours of music, mostly nostalgic video game remixes, gone.   No recovery.

Stop what you are doing with your computer.  Get a deep-software recovery program, preferably on another computer, or ran explicitly from a USB (do not copy stuff to your computer THEN put it on the USB! use your HDs as little as possible!)

Depending on the damage, you may be able to recover most of the files, if not all, assuming you act quickly and don't derp over the data.  I have recovered from catastrophic HD failure this way before: delete isn't delete until it is overwritten.

It was about a week ago that I did the uninstall, I just discovered it now while attempting to play some music while doing some light modding.  And it immediately dawned on me where it all went when I realised it was all gone.  In that time I restarted the computer twice, installed Doom3 and a few mods for it, updated Guild Wars 2, and created 2 DF worlds.  And I also do not have a second computer readily available.  I have a portible format/deleted/damagedhdd data recovery tool but it's been so long, and there has been so much activity since then, I'm not sure how much I'll get back.

I'll give it a shot though while I'm hunting for the cable to my MP3 player.  Wish me luck!

Have to attend to a marriage tomorrow. The fact that the person being married is also the token that person of this side of the family only serves to make it potentially more awkward. At least I got out of getting a haircut today :V

Strangely I can't find it either.  I remember posting in that thread too.  I guess legends aren't meant to be seen.

Frequent 504s, warnings about double-posts when I only hit submit once, and an edit deciding it would rather be a double post, etc.

Not sure these boards were designed to handle the load they're under. Seriously, look at that "online users" list. It's huge.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Server is under stress from too many requests, a server has a limit of how many connections can call at once for packets.
