I prefer long grain.

Short grain becomes a pile of very soft rocks in your mouth if you eat it after it cools down (and by cooling down, I mean refrigerating it, then heating it again in a microwave).

Everything.

I usually boil it when I don't nuke it, though. No rice cooker, too uninterested in figuring out how to jury-rig steaming with pots and pans and junk.

Braised in a sweet red wine. (I don't even know how that would work, honestly.)

Black rice is an interesting thing. Quite tasty, in my opinion.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Me, rice in a rice-cooker. I think it counts as pressurized boiling.
I think steamed rice is of worse quality compared to boiled... am I right?

Well it depends on what rice you use to cook it. My mother always uses sweet rice so we can get sticky rice.

It's different. Not sure about worse quality. You can do some things with steamed rice you can't really do with boiled, and the same the other way around.

Still. Steamed rice can be good, too.

I have so many other things to do and such that bay12 is sort of fading into the background, and I hardly have time for it. I guess *lurk mode activate* for now, except in the game I'm running. See you all not much at all aside from the few occasional posts.

I've got to be honest, no matter how it gets cooked initially, if it's gonna get eaten by me it's gonna spend some time in the frying pan first. Generally without oils, usually with an egg (no matter what I'm using it for, actually).
