But, aiming for their knuckles? That could go wrong, easily. I guess it would work in a high school situation.
Dense knuckles. VERY dense knuckles. Ridges of lovely calcium carbonate, never did go wrong really. In fact, this one time at band camp...

I can't be the only person here who's never been in a fight, am I?  :-[

Does standing around letting some dudes kick the crap of you count? :P

Same here, from the aforementioned years of martial arts. I wasn't worried about the knuckles colliding, I was more worried about them not colliding.

I wasn't known as the guy who never fought back, I was the guy known as "Unless you're confident you can take him, don't fight him, because he doesn't hold back."

And I really don't...

Man, I should really get back into martial arts. Does anyone know of any good martial arts dojos (not MMA, BJJ or similar) in the Greater Melbourne area?

You should try Wing Chun. Lightning fast punches, they're awesome.

Ip Man... great demonstration of Wing Chun. Also, very sad, so thread-appropriate.

I've never really fought with the intention to injure someone, though I've been in fights before. I work to prevent physical fights regularly enough, and what fights I've been in have either been taking hits in a way that doesn't hurt me or them, or using redirection to prevent a fight from happening altogether. One time, I used physical redirection and soft throws to prevent an older kid from injuring my younger brother, while not hurting the bully either... kept at it long enough to frustrate him until he quit and said "this is stupid", and lost his will to fight.

Felt pretty good.

Oh, while I hate to injure people, in fights if I didn't deem them a large enough threat to have to neutralise them, I would toy with them by dodging, blocking and evading as much as I could until they became too tired to fight.

My favourite occasion of that was evading three hits in quick succession, then the person threw a fourth, sloppy punch which I low blocked and followed through with a hammer-fist on the offending arm, which caused the person to back off.

Oh god, I'm such an Internet Tough Guy. :/

I've never been in a real fight either, and i'm going to try my best in keeping it like that.
Especially because i'm quite weak :(

I stay out of fights, I think partially due to my demeanor, and partially because I took martial arts for 10 years and know that, if instinct kicks in, I could severely hurt someone, or even kill them.

As far as sad things, Diablo 3 being beat in less than a week's launch and having less overall gameplay than Median XL (a mod for Diablo 2) does. At least Median didn't try to completely shut you out of getting good gear; there were always alternatives and upgrades to the +1 sword of infinity, and designated farming areas that you may have to gear specifically for, but finding the gear (or making it) wasn't as much of an issue because you were given the (not broken) tools to do so.

Co-worker was just complaining to me about how upset he is with D3, after glowing about it for the first week or so.  Was so hard not to just be like "Umm... told you so...", but he's genuinely angry about it.

Bleh. People who said would be gone weekend only gone overnight. Precious keyboard access and sub-70F AC control, lost again. Also no chance of seeing Toonami's re-debut. Also means noise box is going to come back on. Bugger the noise box, especially when it's controlled by someone that turns the volume up too loud and doesn't mute the commercials. First world problems, gogo~

Back to being quiet to not wakeup/disturb old people too, though. Less of a first world problem, but I guess at least I got 20 hours or so to cackle maniacally in. Is something :-\

Also, it is hot. Had AC on 67F, was thirty degree differential between inside and outside. Florida's back~ Fuck Florida with a rusty train spike.

Is not too bad, really. Heater doesn't get turned on during winter (at all) and pretty much all lights and suchlike stay off.

But, 67, 70, 80? Only somewhat difference when it's nearing 100 outside. AC still on 24/7 to keep people from keeling over from heat.

When it hits 100+ on the other end of the country, we usually set ours to 78 or so. Thankfully we've got a cool spell going now.

Bleh. 78, I'm sweating. 73 is about as high as I can stand without being miserable, and even that's warm. Cost is one thing, dehydration and weather induced depression I'm somewhat willing to suck up costs for.

I actually used to hate anything above 60F, but I think my fiancee has been changing me. I'm actually finding 90F in the sun comfortable somehow.
