I would definitely not extend the same offer a second time. If he comes back, you've got him by the balls.

All told, I'm not that surprised at that sort of attitude from a DUI type - I've heard, but I don't know for sure, that they are almost always huge dicks. Would you say this is true or false?

Have an exam tommorrow, I studied, but not nearly enough, if some great luck doesn't hit me (and knowing me and my luck related incidents it will not) I will probably fail it. And I really like this professor and the subject itself is rather interesting, but I just don't have the energy to force myself to learn this stuff properly and on time, and cramming everything into three days (because other exams yay!) doesn't work because after two days I get utterly sick of the subject matter and studying becomes quickly counter productive.

Also learned of the Zadar Metal Festival this year, it's next weekend, the only one I can take as a free one and go home (not even that since I have another exam on the Monday after it and another on a Tuesday, nothing too big fortunately) and it has some really kick ass bands a certain number of I would love to see before they get too old or fall apart.

I don't know how you get so many asshats, Truean. Most of the people I know that have been through a court case have at least been respectful and understanding towards their lawyers.

It's very simple really. There are tons of assholes out there; many just don't talk about it.

Further, people have this idea in their heads that lawyers make tons of money. Some do, but the majority don't really and the numbers/statistics don't tell the whole story, especially given the expenses you have to incur just to practice. Moreover, nobody wants to pay you anything because there's this attitude that lawyers should do things for free/cheap. Combine the two and it doesn't work well. I've said it once and I'll say it again: there's no justice because nobody pays for it and it doesn't just "happen."

I would definitely not extend the same offer a second time. If he comes back, you've got him by the balls.

It really depends on the person, honestly. I've seen fairly nice ones; I've seen total assholes. It really does go for everyone and all types of clients that I've seen.

The reason more and more attorneys are demanding payment upfront is that people keep trying not to pay.... This in turn leads to having to increase fees to cover the deadbeats who don't pay....

This is what Truean dreams about. The guy tied up is, of course, his asshat client.

because I think (correct me if I'm wrong (which I probably am)) it should be 'her'
To be honest, I have no idea. Truean, you are transsexual female, right? I can't seem to get my pronouns straight  :-\

My sad: realizing I've been referring to Truean as a he since I've seen her around.

About to go off the sleeping medicine I've been taking for seven years that also makes my Tourettes bearable. Wish me luck.

Update: 36 hours with no sleep is intense. Now there's the realization that this'll be every couple of days until I can start sleeping without it.

I'm sort of stuck between curiosity and not wanting to feel like even more of an ignorant dick.
