Especially nowadays for the reward. At the very least, do yourself a favour and do the first 2 years in a community college. The credits are transferable, and since they cost nearly nothing you end up with a lot less debt at the end.

Yeah, in retrospect, I really wish I hadn't just gone with the short-term easy plan, of taking all 4 years at a single university instead of getting some cheap ones in there. I'm regretting my tens of thousands of dollars of debt and $750 monthly payments. Do try to coordinate with the university you're planning on to figure out what course equivalencies exist, though, so you don't wind up wasting both the time and money on a class that all sense suggests should carry over but which technically does not.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Yeah, I did that and might go back once I have a good idea of the classes I'd need and could get at Community College.  Anything to minimize that fucking debt.

Laid off.  Buisness is too slow for my boss to keep paying me, or anyone for that matter.  Only the sales guy is still employed.  Says to call in a couple months.

Tells me to focus on school, except enrollment is over, and I only took 2 classes because I wanted to avoid interfering with my work schedule.

Don't let enrollment being over prevent you from getting more classes. It's still doable.

I'll look into getting more classes then, I suppose there are those fast track classes for summer part B.  I hate the fasttracks, but I suppose I have nothing better to do.   And who knows, maybe I can still get in, I thought that was what enrollment being over meant, that you can't get into any more classes because they already started.  But I guess I've never had reason to try.  See what I can do I guess.

Good news is that I'm ok on the money front.  I was saving up to buy a new computer, and had plenty to buy it, but never got around to ordering the parts.  So I suppose I'm lucky I have 2 month's rent stashed away.  Could be worse I guess.

Teachers can override anything. Enrolment being over means standard methods of class entry out closed, but as long as classes have been running for less than two weeks (no clue if they are) overrides will likely still be available if you can convince a teacher to give you one.

Why does Firefox keep crashing?!

Use Chrome! (a futile attempt at corruption into a Chrome user!)

Home from office at 10:30 tonight. Burried in paperwork I'm not really getting paid to do for someone who thinks I'm taking too long to do it (too many hours). He's slowly starting to understand the sheer damn magnitude of the project to the point where he's not on my ass about it anymore, but it took a long time to reach that point. So as he slowly wakes up to reality, maybe I'll actually get paid something for it. Who knows.

Keep butting heads with the management until they understand, as opposed to blindly agreeing and just not getting it done. They won't like you, but they should get off your ass eventually. You can also keep some of your dignity in tact.
