Realised I am entering one of my semi regular periods of malaise after not having had one for a few years. Basically I find myself "stationary" - not getting any meaningful work done professionally, struggling with social and family relationships, and becoming more introverted and lazy. I have no real reason too, but I find myself overly concerned with my health and age. I already know this will go on for a few months before something kicks me up the ass out of feeling sorry for myself for no reason, but until then I am probably gonna be welded to the sofa, drifting from day to day. 

Fuck it, im gonna go for a run up in the hills later. Might even take the camera.

I think I'm catching a cold in May. I blame it on the allergies causing me to aniff up and accidentally swallow all this mucus and then sore throats happened and the running kept happening and boy is it cold in here.

For some reason I laugh every time someone sniffs a flower. Why?

They've basically just gone up and snorted the plant equivalent of sperm.

I wasn't able to visit my grandmother for what will almost certainly be her last mothers day because my mother was to ill to make the trip.

I also need to buy some funeral clothes. My grandmother is no longer able to eat and is conscious at most a few minutes a day.

I hope that if one of my sisters get bit they know enough to call 911 and not just blow it off. It's perfectly treatable, but not without a doctor.

Today I had 3 people telling me about how they "read things online...." O, so some dude with a website who you've never met, don't know, and don't know anything about said so? You feel comfortable telling that to a judge, cause....? I mean, hey, it's only a criminal trial right? Nothing major? Don't care if you go to jail or not? [sigh]. I'm so glad I went to law school and spent years learning the law through practice so I could have barely literate people gaze upon websites and tell me I'm wrong about law. lol

Same thing with car dealers telling me they don't need buyers guides in the windows of their cars. [just doesn't care anymore look] .

OK, to an extent, but the problem is all the outdated, half true, or entirely false information out there that because "somebody read it somewhere," is considered gospel.

Don't get me wrong, the internet has some good uses. I'm using it to complain about it right now!

Wikipedia isn't bad. Hulu could bankrupt the cable companies, which I'm all for. The problem is the crap. For every ounce of gold online there are 248.1 metric tons of bullshit and 821.3 stellar masses of porn.... Then there's poor homestarrunner.com , which is perpetually under construction and basically abandoned, sadly.

I don't know if I'm done with my rant in the overall sense, but perhaps in the immediate sense, yes.

My sister*, who I've been supporting financially for the last several years, just had her power go off due to nonpayment.  She's terrible at managing her finances, her girlfriend isn't much better, and they are both on medical disability but not yet on social security so they can't work but also aren't getting any money.

Believe me, if I wrote down everything she has wrong with her, you'd barely believe it could all happen to one person (let alone one who's still alive).  She deserves the social security if anyone does, but the system moves so very slow.

And...my job contract ended early due to the project coming to a close.  I moved in with my fiancee on the expectation that it would actually be a year contract like it said.  I probably won't get paid this much again, and if I have even a little delay between jobs, I can't pay the rent for both myself and my sister.  I budgeted enough to keep her going after the start of next month, before she completely blew off her utilities again.

She's going to be homeless after next month, and will probably end up couchsurfing.  I can't put her up at my place, there's no other family to take care of her either.  I have no idea what will happen with her three cats that she loves more than life itself.  (If you think that three cats is excessive for someone with no income, see second paragraph and consider her tenuous sanity.)

I'd told her I could support her until her lease ran out this time, and no longer.  That's in December and I couldn't even make it that far.  The last three years of taking care of her have left me so dead broke that I can't even do that.  I've got like three different collections agencies coming after me right now because of my own medical debt.

Just wish I could take care of her better.  But more than anything else, I'm just tired.  I want to have a savings again.  While I'm taking care of her, I can't do anything for my own future.

EDIT:  Oh yeah, and the dentist gave me what is turning out to be a week's supply of painkillers for the two week wait before I see him next.  This is three-vicodin-a-day pain.  If I had this anywhere else in my body, I'd be tempted to take time off...but 1) I'd feel stupid taking sick days for dental work, and 2) I don't get sick days.  Next week is going to suck.

Any chance to get a short appointment with that dentist to get that prescription altered before then? Shouldn't take long, so the major trick is finding a time of day when their schedule isn't crammed to the gills with other stuff that makes it not-so-simple to take the time to rewrite a prescription.
