I should really just make a video about all my grievances with Fire Emblem. It's a series I want to love so bad, but it won't let me. It. just. won't. let. me.

Just bite off the lip. what's the worst that'll happen?

Ever have the compulsion while holding a pair of scissors to cut your eyelids off?

I sometimes get that.

And people say I have poor impulse control.

You're probably not actually crazy, but instead having intrusive violent thoughts, which are normal.

My friend sent me a video of a man being executed by a cartel. I wtf'd, then I raged, and now I'm just sad that I can't have that much faith in humanity anymore. Jesus, I still don't know what to feel. I'm still trying to figure out why in the world I watched it... maybe I wanted to see if it was possible for people to do that without remorse. They could. They did.

There's some crazy shit going down in Mexico right now. It is very possible that more people have died in the Mexican conflict than the combined Coalition and civilian casualties in war in Afghanistan. It's pretty fucked up.

Yeah, I have heard the insane statistics. Not quite sure why we ignore issues right next door and yet throw ourselves at much less dangerous threats overseas. Regardless, just SEEING it made it click. Just as a note, please do NOT view anything along those lines. I'm going into medicine and managed to control my stomach, but I am sure that a good deal of people would become sick when watching something as gruesome and pointless as that.

Anyhow, exam week coming up. Enough to make anyone a little sad.

because the problems in Mexico are OUR fault, and if we do something about them it might look like we were admitting responsibility.

Motivational downswing. Least I'm not feeling worthless like last time.

But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

If I facepalmed any harder I'd have jammed my skull through my brain. It was an epiphany on the caliber of realizing I was born almost twenty years ago. I don't keep up to date on these things you see...

Also, I keep multiple hobbies and a few more interests to get me going. Can't write? Make chainmaille! Keep screwing up the weave? Play video games! Can't play video games? Go kayaking! Can't go kayaking? Write!

You'll have another one of those in about 5 years, and I'm about to have my 10 year one. Any day now.

My plethora of abandoned and stifled projects just make me depressed, not motivated D:

The reason I haven't fallen into irrational self loathing is I always improve. Ex: I may have mostly given up drawing, but I can draw pretty well if needed. These tangential projects that don't go anywhere still give me experience. If I die a renaissance man with a warehouse full of half completed ideas, I'll be pretty okay with that. At least they're half complete instead of nothing. After all, I'm always touting the meaning of life to be experiencing things. Just gotta keep tryin'.

re: the Mexican drug war, I'd love to be an anthropologist in a few decades (when it's safe to do the research), analyzing just exactly WTF is with the "Aztec revival" portion of things -- like the recurrence of "executed by cutting their heats out" incidents. It's one of the aspects that isn't getting much discussion in the media.
