Meh, it doesn't actually change much, if anything. Just another day.

Ehn, both turning 18 and 21 for me was just a sort of "...and?" thing. Didn't really change anything besides a few extra legal considerations (which have had exactly zero impact on life, so yeah.). But I don't drink or smoke, have been a gun owner since like 12, and didn't start driving until a fair bit after I turned 21, so there wasn't really anything special that stepping past the arbitrary age line changed. It's really just another day. Nothing really special happens unless you go out of your way to make it happen. No skies opening and celestial music and sudden magical appearance of pole dancers of your preferred gender providing you manna and ambrosia. Just whatever day of the week it is.

... unless you're in one of the countries with mandatory military service, I guess. That... okay, you can be scared about that.

Dammit Vector, can't you see you are tearing this family apart! Ever since Jackrabbit inherited the banana plantation and Toony got animasia, it just hasn't been the same! :'(
I somehow find my name more fitting now.

I meant on people, not really living. It was a misunderstanding though and things are sorta better now. Well not really better but slightly more pleasant.

Thanks for clarifying that at least.  That was a little scary.

The number of messages that have been misconstrued as suicide notes on this forum is rather surprising.

Was it? I didn't really think it was a suicide thing, just an exasperation thing.

I don't know, I don't want to be critical of anybody in such a situation, but I never understood the leaving a note thing. It just sort of seems that you will be dead, there is nothing you can write on a note that will affect your existence there after. The entire point of the exercise is to cut off all these troubles, so why is your last act to try to attend to some more than you are causing?

That has just been my outlook on it, at least...

Because two of the most gnawing basic human desires include closure and getting in the last word.

No way of knowing when the person you are concerned about logs off other channels of communication. It's good to hear the issue was somewhat resolved.

I tried not to scare myself with this. Janet said she isn't the kind of person to do that anymore, so I believe her.

Yeah, I didn't think it was an e-suicide note or anything, it's just that when someone gives an exasperated message then disappears, the mind assumes bad things.  I know Janet fairly well, and I know problems like to follow her, so I was worried.
