That's a little like a football coach complaining that the other team is letting him run the score up on them.  :P

I think that is the only time in history I have ever been compared to anything about football. :P :D

But yeah, I'm afraid his firm will fire his ass if he doesn't show some decent judgment here. I don't like him, but I don't really want him to lose his job....
Yea thats understandable, that will haunt his ass for the rest of his life fucking up royally for representing a firm. Then again i heard they need public defenders too. Truean its up to you man, you aren't doing anything wrong and you are telling the guy to stop now and settle this, if he continues on with this tangent i wouldn't sweat it anymore.

O, I knows. Sidenote, good luck getting a public defender's gig even, it's rough out there. I did tell him to stop and settle it. He called me an unprofessional asshole. Screw him.

There's a difference between winning and winning so hard the other firm fires opposing counsel.
Not about morality, I'm fine with "just" winning, primarily out of laziness. That second one takes effort. Screw that.

Screw that. Crush your enemy, see him driven before you, and delight in the lamentations of his women.

....yeah, it's probably good that I didn't go into any kind of competitive field.

Doesn't that mean they'll come to you with their problems and ask for advice?

... So you'll end up hearing the lamentations of his women. :P

Hurrrgh, financial aid bullshit. I know I'll be glad to have waded through this muck eventually, but I feel like the difficulty of even figuring out who to talk to is part of the test for whether or not you get any, at this point. But I absolutely must not take the "easy" option of getting another loan. I'm up to my eyeballs in debt already.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

That doesn't mean that you can't enjoy hearing them. Besides, you can get her to lament because you look better in a dress than she does. :P

Loneliness.

I have to change even more.  I can't remain like this.

It definitely helps with coping, but it doesn't change feelings of disconnectedness from the immediate world around you.

I'm a far left wing historian who loves old movies and older civilisations. Being disconnected from this society is no shame, having NO ONE to connect with is a shame though. No one should be like that. But I don't think thats the case, Vector is one of the smartest people i've seen around here and where theres smarts theres always another nerd to empty your brain to. I know this from personal experience.
