Saw some posts I wrote only half a year ago.  Boy, have I changed.

I was just reading posts from myself in 2009 in that copyright thread.  I'm as obstinate, skeptical, and condescending now as I was then, I just think I got more taciturn.  I always feel a little odd reading such old posts, especially in topics I don't remember, but then it does stand to reason that I wouldn't remember a conversation from more than two years ago.

Heh, yeah. The me from a year ago would be totally weirded out by the me of today.

I'm almost the opposite person that I was 10 years ago. Finally hearing viewpoints that weren't Parent and Church Approved (tm) after being sheltered most my life will do that.

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Funny... was it World Retrospective Day or something? I was looking for an old photo link I posted, and started wandering through some of my old posts (1-2 years ago). Was reading some of the advice I posted (man, do I do that often... >_<;) and found that my past self had some wisdom to impart my present self. Also, was sad to note that the things that were problems for me years ago have continued to be problems now, just in new forms.

I've really got to break this cycle.

Interestingly, the only great difference between posts I wrote years ago and those I write today, apart from the greater understanding of forum formatting, is a lessened vocabulary, as I grew quite fatigued by the incessant arguments over what a word I used meant.

I am so average at Calculus.  Everything I do is average.  Dead straight C grades everywhere.

What a silly excuse.  Balderdash!

I gotta check up my nosebleeding. At first I thought it was just side effects of my medicine, but now I get them almost every two days and today it I've had three of them. Wouldn't it be really fucking great if just as I feel the worst my body starts breaking down as well.

Not knowing how to disable being notified of updates to this rapidly-updating thread.

Also the existence and commonality of narcissists and the sycophants who support, encourage, and enable them.
