The family dog is dying. I found out earlier today, and I feel punched in the gut every time I pass her by. She's been with us over a decade, and we're putting her down early next week.

With the Metal Gear thing, it reminds me of Fable 2 :( I got an Xbox 360 just to play it, but guess what, it's from the faulty line that Microsoft refused to fix and said "LOL FU" to all costumers. So I had a 360 that ruined my games that no one would fix and 2 ruined games. Yeah, me and consoles are not friends since.

Just learnt my father's recent absence from work was because he was fired and living off his savings, my mother is about to get let off from her work as they're making cuts and I've been looking for work for 4 months ever since I left college and couldn't get into uni.

An hero time?

Nope. Time to cut the pride, or whatever else might be stopping you and your folks, and apply for unemployment, or other government assistance programs. Even if it's just food aid, it'll see you guys through. Won't just drop in your lap though.

It's for the best. Fable 2 is all kinds of mediocre.

I just had a terrifying dream where I was riding a train that was suspicious like a bus with a single door in the front and an all glass front window, with seats behind the driver. We were riding along the tracks through some backwoods area, over some bridges, and somebody had placed a cart or something on the tracks. The train hits it and knocks it aside, but also becomes derailed, flies through the air, does two barrel rolls, and then flies straight down into a body of water. My first thought is "Ok, I'll just leave out of the entrance real fast. I'll be OK" but I forgot that I was sitting in the front seat on a full bus-train, and the train had just dipped forward 90 degrees, so everyone in the backseats fell down and piled ontop of me, and I couldn't move under their combined weight, so I was being simultaneously crushed, and then drowned as the cabin filled with water. I had an eerily calm mind, "Ok, I didn't wake up today just to die some trivial death, remain calm. Hold your breath, and remain calm until you can figure something out." but thing looked pretty bleak. Then I woke up.

I was walking to class on Friday when someone I didn't know decided to pretend-tackle me, stopping himself from barreling into me just inches away. Not really sure why; I rarely interact with other people at my high school outside my circle of friends, and when I do I try to be nice enough. The main sad part here is that I reflexively punched him in the solar plexus. He had it coming, I'll admit, but I still felt pretty bad about it. I don't think he was expecting that kind of reaction, and I really wasn't either. Generally my reaction to people moving towards me is to step out of the way.

Well, I apologized rather profusely while he caught his breath. Luckily my punches don't have a lot of weight behind them, so there wasn't any serious harm. I suspect it was more surprise than anything.

Don't worry. Physical violence is a great way to make new friends.

Maybe it was because you use words like solar plexus instead of stomach.

The solar plexus is not the stomach. Two different locations :/

On topic: My music class. Why did I take a music class? I don't know anything about music. I'm pretty sure I'm tone-deaf. I know nothing about phrases and harmonies. I can't figure out how to answer the questions. And it's only the first week. This is gonna be a loooong semester.

All of those sound exactly like the reason someone would take a music class?

what class are you taking? (Music is a bit general, sounds like Theory to me)

Good things to learn, maybe, if you were planning to become a music critic or some such. I can't imagine a situation in which I'll need to use/identify syncopation or pentatonic scales. I can't back out now though; I dropped nearly 100 bucks for the textbook and earlier today an additional $16 for an access code which I was supposed to have already. Now I'm laboring my way through a 51-question quiz and I have a concert to attend Monday.

Fake Edit: It's called "Exploring Music", and yeah it's essentially a theory class, concentrating on classical Western music. Part of our first assignment was to identify the composer of a piece of music (it was Beethoven).
