Just overheard a conversation being yelled across the house.

"How long did you put this in for?"
"You said twenty."
"I said THIRTEEN TO SIXTEEN. How does that sound like twenty?"
"I'm old."
"..."

This does not give me confidence about the edibility of the dinner I'm about to have.

Sounds like it may be somewhat crispy. Put on your good teeth.

I'm playing Devil May Cry 4.  Either I seriously don't remember anything about the last time I played it or this game fucking cheats.  I don't remember dying like five times against Berial (He's a fucking cheater, he uses his huge aoe in melee how can I dodge that shit) after going the entire first level (Except the leg-sword guys because their attacks are impossible to predict) without getting hit once.

Bam, you get a D for that level.  I know you went most of it without a scratch but fuck you.

Perspective is sure a thing. I went through a period of thinking that, out of all my friends, having my heart broken by my best friend and then him turning out to be abusive meant that whatever they bitched about last year, I'd gone through worse.

That was ridiculous nonsense, obviously. But now, I hear what some of my closest friends are going through, things I can't list here out of respect for them and I just feel like a prick. My problems consisted of moping a lot or feeling like I moped too much. I never had to deal with this much death.

Sleep paralysis is fun.

Do you get it often yourself?  I flipped the fuck out the first few times it happened to me, but now I'm just largely annoyed by it.

Used to in the first years of university. First time I was rather shocked (O shit I can't move!), then I got used to it and just turned around and went back to sleep. Last time I did was a long while ago, though. I attribute it to being less stressed overall

I think if I got sleep paralysis, I'd shit myself.
provided my rectum still worked. if not, afterwards, I'd quickly go to the loo.

You'd likely shit yourself after you could move again.  Usually I can just move my eyes if anything.

You know how when you start to think about breathing you suddenly start consciously doing it?  It's weird to be aware of that and not be able to change your rate of breathing.

Trying to explain to my boss that another employee isn't cut out for working on a particular project is hard.  :(

Tired as fuck-all after a trip to the ER in the wee hours of the morning. Daughter was writhing around with abdominal pain so bad she wasn't even responding to us. She's okay and recuperating now, but that was NOT a fun night.

Hurgh, why'm I still sick. I've had to miss 2 days of work already. It's not even all that bad right now, and under most circumstances I'd just soldier through it, but I work in a hospital so that'd be tremendously irresponsible.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Gonna be gone/mostly gone for another little while, as I promised I would at the beginning of the new semester, now that the mafia game I was in ended.

See y'all later~
