My cousin is still screaming, even though the idiots next door stopped hours ago.

I am both annoyed, and concerned about her well-being.
gain control of her by activating one of her calmer ticks, usually (my volunteer work in the psych ward) knocks the person off their current path.

Yeah, tried that. Distracted her with a cookbook, and she calmed down a bit.

But the whole screaming ordeal earlier took a toll on her, and she screams spontaneously.

Too bad I wasn't able to lure her away from her room earlier (during the whole previous post screaming ordeal), and make her stay in the living room, where the god-awful screaming from my neighbors couldn't be heard.

I wish I wouldn't have to listen to any more election coverage. I really don't give a good gd who wins in Iowa or New Hampshire.

Remember when the media was somewhat responsible and were more concerned about informing and educating people rather than earning high ratings by trying to out-crazy each other?

I think some of the more insane pronouncements by *both* sides (and the middle, and everyone else) would be quashed immediately if the media had even a shred of integrity.

Hate to point it out but isn't that the Aztec calendar / sun stone rather than the Maya one?

I may have broken my big toe, left foot and not realized, and now it might have healed back into the wrong position.  Either that or my toe is grotesquely bent, swollen, and crackly for some other reason.  Either way, something to ask my doctor about next time I see him.

That's something to ask your doctor right now.  My grandpa got hit in the hand with an axe when he was a little kid and it healed wrong.  It ended up being permanent, his ring finger is a gnarled claw and he can't move it.

It's not very often that I get this nauseous and just darkly depressed.

Ditto that. My grandfather caught a baseball barehanded as a young man and it popped his top ring finger joint down at more than a 90 degree angle, and it stayed like that permanently. He didn't think it was that big of a deal, other than the fact his fingertip would catch on things.

Of course, this was the same man that would come home from work with a bleeding gash in his forearm and shrug it off. "Just knocked some bark off."

I miss him.  :-[

I was late to work today, and stuff was exploding even before I was supposed to come in.
