I started reading The Time-traveler's Wife.  I actually hated it within the first two pages.  Unappetizing sex scene by page 16.  I've read far better in slash fanfics.

I saw the movie.  I thought the way time travel worked for that character was kind of interesting, and the way the girl got herself pregnant against the guy's wishes was worthy of a smirk.  That's about it.

and once again, I seem to be the only King fan D:
I like Stephen King. I don't think he's a particularly great author, but I like reading his works.

I like him, haven't read anything by him in a while though.

King is firmly in the "Good writer who makes bad decisions" category. Dude can write, but he tried a few things that didn't pan out.

With how much writing he DOES, that's no great surprise. Man is a writing machine.

Stephen King's older books remind me of my dad for some reason.  Something about the narration and the characters, I dunno.  I agree that he's a decent writer who makes bad decisions.  I liked IT.

I have a massive collection of King books.  His problem stems from the fact that he has written about literally everything, and yet he tries to keep writing new things.  Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't.  On a related note, who else likes From a Buick 8?

So, I had an interview with an employment agency today.  It was inspiring and enlightening in an academic sense, but incredibly depressing in a practical sense.  Also depressing because I don't know if they're going to take me as a client, and if they do, I have a feeling its going to be expensive (since the CEO said it would be).  And then I have a real job interview, which will including a "mechanical test", whatever that means, and after the lecture I had today I'm pretty high-strung about the interview, since I'm pretty sure that killed my last couple openings without me even realizing it.

I also thought of making a thread about it, but I feel like I've cashed my thread-making chips with yet another "everyone rant about politics" mini-forum almost a year before the election it's about.  Sorry about that, by the way.

I'm so freaking depressed right now at how bad I apparently am with ladies. I failed to get a date IN A GODDAMN DATING SIM. The whole purpose of the game, and I end up drinking heavily and falling to my accidental doom. Goddamn it.

You always screw up when playing those types of games.  I don't think anybody is able to wheeze by making every right choice first time through unless they're Leafsnail.

That's actually not so bad.  We have a realistic fix for it.  It's called MegaTokyo.com.  Those games are trivially easy for me...but that's just not how love really works in reality...I really hope I don't end up alone like it's looking like will happen...

My favourite tea shop reopened today. Went with my sister, who is visiting from chicago, realised how different we were.

I guess I'm hippied out, and she's all "normal". And then got dragged to sorority houses at UC Berkeley. That was interesting.

Life's so weird.
