It gets better, if it's of any consolation. I've not had a serious crush since I was 24.

Today's sadness comes from knowing without a shadow of doubt someone, somewhere, has 34'd that.

Truean posted this in the progressive rage thread and I made the mistake of watching it, despite the title. Ughhhhh.

Right now I'm in shock that somebody on FOX news acknowledges the hypocrisy in "open sexuality" with regards to hetero vs. homo sexual. Of course this sudden honesty could be more due to backing the establishment choice (Romney) and needing to take Santorum down a peg.

Why would you say that I was so happy, relatively speaking, with that thought having never occurred to me. You monster.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Sadness shared is divided. Let us all suffer together, to a lesser degree, rather than me suffering alone. Well, me and everyone else who had that thought without prompting.

The video is old.

Older than the Jan. 1 upload date (about when Santorum got a surge)? Alright then, nix that last part.

Spent a lot of time trying to fix an issue to play with a friend to just find out I'm not going to get to. And then suddenly I realize everyone in my house is asleep already.

... Meehh... More lonely nights here at home.

Wife had me and a friend go with her to a bar tonight.  Neither me or the friend are bar-going types.  I mostly just stared off into space while she drank and got progressively more obnoxious, and made ever more aggressive motions for us to get similarly obnoxious.  Nothing I had any serious problems with.  Just not any way I care to act while surrounded by people I don't know, many of a type who made my life hell for many years.

Despite being bored to tears and not doing much of anything, the whole ordeal drained me so severely that just the sound of a human voice grated on me.  I couldn't even bring myself to listen to music or play a game with voice acting, as I locked myself away for over an hour before I could feel functional again.

I don't have anything against bars.  That environment is just so very much not for me.  I wish she had more friends she could do that kind of thing with regularly.  She needs her outlets for extraversion just as much as I need to be isolated for at least a couple hours a day.

The only thing that bars are good for AFAIK is finding a good brawl to take part in. I haven't done that in years, though.
