Ugh, saw a preview for a move about a kid who loses his dad during 9/11. I'm not sure if I'm sad because the plot sounds really damn depressing, or that someone is making a 9/11 movie already.
We've already had like, three 9/11 movies :|
I was unaware of this.

Pnx makes me realise so, so badly something. I'm so god damn pale that I think I literally can't tan and I sunburn so easily I take an umbrella outside.

Am... I at risk for skin cancer or something? Oh boy that would just be the icing on the cake of my health problems if It was a big risk.

Technically yes, you're higher than average risk.  How much is hard to say.  If it makes you feel any better, I've got my own pretty serious health problems.  I hope yours are better than mine.

I can feel myself begin to burn in a matter of minutes on a cloudless day when the sun is glaring hard enough.  I also have a grandfather who got skin cancer on his nose, but he got tons and tons of sun exposure working in the cornfields.

I'm really healthy.  I just face a lot of drastic risks that could turn that around very quickly.

It makes me sad that 9/11 victims get such ridiculously disproportionate amounts of sympathy attention, especially disproportionate to the aftermath of the event.

I'm pretty sure there was at least one made-for-TV movie as well, but the name(s) escape me.

Fake edit: Mostly agreed, Salmon.

Well, in my professional opinion as a forumite for a free, albeit hard game, I'd say yes.

I think there was a movie that, while not explicitly about 9/11, involves a plot twist with a character dying to that event. Don't remember which one though.

I'm under the impression that aid that goes to one victim to a tragic event =/= less aid to other victims of tragic events. People invest in what they feel impacted by. Either find a way for people to realize the impact or blame whoever has money in people not knowing, like chocolate companies and child slavery in coca harvesting. I don't see other victims having an impact.

I'm a redhead. I take very strongly after my Frisian side, so I have a burn time of <10 minutes. I have only met a few people who burn faster than me, and of them, one was an albino and another a redhead who was younger than me...

I'm up for whatever crazy engineering projects anyone might suggest to deal with this solar threat.  It's about time someone did something about the celestial menace.

Man being a redhead is awesome. I'm happy to have the increased sunburning in exchange for being rare looking and exotic.

Let's see... I can't stab the sun with it.  I can't fit inside of it.  The picture doesn't indicate any scale, so perhaps it's large enough that we can put it in orbit to always be facing the sun, and shielding half the earth.  Or maybe it's large enough I can strap it to my back like a war banner.  I'm sure as hell not going to carry one around in my hands all the time.

Fairly sure someone's done that, actually. It's dinging th memory for some reason. There's also those umbrella hats.

@Ultraviolet Radiation: A glass box would help, or a glass mesh. Glass stops all electromagnetic waves above a certain frequency, which is handy for preventing sunburn. It's probably be a little sillier, though.
