That was a joke. In the same vein as South Park's "only mormons go to heaven....

However the holidays without family do blow.

Hey Truean, if you feel like you need someone to talk to, I'll probably be online most of the holiday... Especially Xmas Day (we celebrate on the eve here), which I guess might be the hardest for you. So if you want to, just send me pm or something.

It's a tactical risk. Sure other people can take what you do when you put yourself out there and make you look like a fool but you can do the same to them. You just gotta decide whether or not you think it's worth any possible negative outcome, and you sound like you do. :)

Anyway, I'd guess the chances of her doing something like that are almost nonexistant. In general it's a good bet that people are too lazy to be spiteful, but this girl sounds like she genuinely likes you.

It's not logical or rational, I know. But it's very firmly rooted in my psyche, conditioned. I don't want to think that way, but I can't do anything else. I panic - and I mean literally panic, just at the thought of opening up just the slightest to someone in real life, and it's hard as hell on the Internet too. There isn't even some concrete way in which I think it can hurt me, my mind just starts yelling DANGER! DANGER! DANGER! regardless of whether it makes sense or not.

I just had the worst forum game experience I've ever had. It was a god game, and I was a god of nature and order. Within two turns I managed to have no progress at all. This is ridiculously bad luck because each of the 5 phases of the turn are rolled separately and I get bonuses if it has to do with my domain, which they all did. I not only blew up the forest I was trying to build up twice, but I also failed to make anything at all. If I were to write up another turn it would have the exact same actions as the turn before it that failed miserably.

During these two turns I watched other players terraform their lands, make treasures, create demons, afterlives, and overall do things. To say the least it was the most depressing game that I've ever played just because I could do nothing while others ran circles around me. If I were the one rolling the phases at least I would feel like I tried to do something.

The issue where every action is rolled I guess. I would much rather games that only roll things in question.

Yeah. You know. I think SOPA is stupid. But. Really?

Can you really just watch that again and then ask yourself. Really?

I don't think it's that bad, it's making a joke by saying that even Hitler thinks that SOPA is stupid.

I don't believe SOPA will be the end of the internet, but I think there will be many epic blunders and tragic victims should it pass, similar to the many people whose lives were ruined over the past decade over downloading a few cds worth of music.  The things that people are predicting will indeed happen, just not to the entire internet.  It's not going to be apocalyptic, just painful and angering.

And while the end result of SOPA may not be as bad as the video implies, I do believe the intentions behind it are.  It gets very hard to swallow.

THANK YOU! Someone else who's being a bit rational about this!

Everywhere I go, it's endless whining of how the entire Internet will be censored and how people will be dragged out of their homes in the middle of the night for downloading porn or such nonsense.

I don't pirate stuff (much). All I'm saying is that a lot of people are freaking out about this. I've read at least one post comparing it to Nazi Germany and the Holocaust.

Would you rather have people over reacting to this or not reacting at all?

Just saying.
