Lost another friend due to her boyfriend not liking gays.... [sigh] I don't understand any of this. If you're jealous of someone who only likes men, then you've got serious jealousy issues. If you just don't like gays then :(. Once again, I have lost out to the significant other and I wasn't even aware I was competing. He's acting all standoffish and does not like me spending time with her at all, and especially doesn't like us being alone. ??? He makes it a point to be around....

Is it that I don't look gay? That's just cover. Aww come on, pretty please? Given the chance and feeling of safety I'll happily put on a dress.... [whimper] I'm not faking it I swear. If you know a nice, decent gay guy I'll go out on a date with him. Awwww. I don't think he believes me somehow, or something.

Gah, just let the gay or whatever friend watch movies with your girlfriend once every couple of months. Really? ..... :(

My friends are kinda weird about my gayness now that they know I'm gay.  My friend made sure to comment that he didn't want to know if I was going to "get off" on a photo of his.  Sure he's attractive and all, but I make sure not to look at my friends that way because I get attached.  I'm annoyed that he jumped to the conclusion that I think of him as eye candy or something >_>

We're *always* unlucky with the pickings. Seriously, every American film I've ever seen on an international flight was Hollywood garbage. I'm not expecting indie flicks, but at least give us some good Hollywood stuff. My wife at least got to see The Matrix on Lufthansa.
You gotta ride in style then if you want the good stuff.

Yeah, I should stop using The Onion to pick my airlines.

Clingy jealous boy/girlfriends are generally ones you don't want to have in the first place, homophobic or not.

They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Yea, I lost a few female friends, and decided to not even try befriending several more due to my ex's jealousy issues. Sucks, but that is how it goes. I now regret it quite a bit.

My dad rushes into my room being incredibly emotional and flustered about the rain that has been going steady for two days straight. He worries for floods, which is irrational since it's just rain and no gusts to take out the power and thus our sump pump. It's a lot of water sure, but that would only be an issue with the power out, and as stated, there was no threat of that.

Of course when I told him I should stay home and work on school work he got incredibly emotional and called me out on coming up with convenient excuses saved up for such an occasion. Fine whatever, I can do the homework when I back from shopping for a power generator or something with you. He did say it would take less than an hour, just hop to the store, buy it and hop back.

Three hours later we finally finish with all his pointless standing around for a few minutes before calling me over to show me that a thing isn't the thing he wanted, it's another thing next to it, wandering off to look at some piping for 15 minutes, trying to haggle with staff for the longest time, refusing help from employees at the store who were offering to do basically my entire function of being there of carrying stuff to the car and yelling at me to pay attention after he wanders off and back without telling me.

It's really more applicable for the rage thread, but I don't recognize their authority. Just a positive thread and a negative-get-me-outta-this thread. Whatever.

And I don't hate the guy or resent him, just the usual friction of two people with wildly different personalities and values living under the same roof with a wonky power dynamic. I still love my dad and will tackle anybody who speaks bad about the guy.

Failed my English class. Now I need to tell my parents.
"SUP BITCHES FAILED MY ENGLISH CLASS, U MAD?"

On a more serious note, try to make it seem less than it is. Try to find something worse than the English class ("A kid at school died today... I also failed my English class...") to soften the blow.
Making them feel pity for you could work too, but that could go real sour if you do it wrong.

I'd have to be in your shoes in order to point out what to use as an example. I don't know your parents and I don't know what's happened lately at your school, so I'm just internet Joe-Bob  :-\

I vote for the all caps option.  I got a good laugh out of it.  Disarm them with humor!  If they don't find it funny, go on a blazing offensive against their lacking senses of humor.  They'll be so distraught with the failings of their own character, that they'll forget what the conversation was about in the first place.
