Jerks on Facebook have been quite disrespectful to the English teacher since the beginning of the year. Just now they posted an edited picture of her face on a buffalo, and some pretty horrible comments on it.

This is just ridiculous.

I chickened out about revealing my plans on fasting to the rest of my family today, understanding they are not. Already told my brother and my mother, all I got was insults from her and stupidity from him. So I just used the excuse that I wasn't hungry, I doubt it will work a second day. Also they're going to want an explanation and I really don't feel like trying to explain my actions to them. Why can't anything ever go smoothly for me...

Test/math stuff
This is probably one of my few posts lately because I started playing soccer and everything else kind of took a back seat to me. And now, the season is over, and everyday feels like a horrible waste of time because I have nothing to look forward to. At all. My mother moved in, so I'm not even comfortable in my own home. But, in regards to math, at least your teacher/professor isn't fuck all crazy. I mean this man shouldn't be able to drive let alone teach geometry. He talks about his wife, who I'm not sure is even alive based on some comments. That enough should be alone. The way he treats student swho misbehave shows he really has no grasp on what consequences in life are (i.e. if you don't want to do work in here, stop coming to school. Period.), and the shit he says makes me feel like I walked into the Alzheimer's ward in a nursing home. I don't even have to do work in there because the extra credit for coming in and working in the morning is worth more than the actual homework.

Condensed version:
Hosted free legal seminar, provided doughnuts. Guy comes up after, basically demands I solve all his legal problems for free, or rather show him how to do it himself. He curses profusely while doing this and essentially calling me a crook while eating the food I paid for him to have.... I love being cursed at while I work for free....

Some fucking people.

As for doctors (vets included), they're also expected to be at everyone's elses service all the time, even on vacation or holiday. Even worse since people expect doctoring/health-stuffing to be "a calling" and as such the doctors won't mind taking care of acquaintances' acquaintances and complete strangers who just found out they are in the health business.

Why are you fasting, if you don't mind me asking?

To test/build my willpower and gain better insights into suffering and starvation. That would be the primary reasons.

As for secondary reasons, Thanksgiving is approaching and, on a more practical level, I can afford to lose the weight at the moment anyways.

I should elaborate on the Thankgiving reason some. First the obvious, everyone is feasting while those who are starving keep on starving. Its not so much a protest on my part as it is a way for me to show recognition to them, if that makes any sense. Second, I would like to make my family think more about how fortunate they are and how unfortunate others are. Finally, I think the situation is funny.

That sums up my reasons pretty much. I'm lazy so I'll copy and paste the plan from my Diary if anyone is interested.

11/4/2011

I'm starting a fast today for various reasons I may go into later. The plan at least at the moment is to reach at least 31 days without any food. I'll be drinking as much water as I want though. The water is purified via a Brita filter pitcher, which uses charcoal. Since it is city water, its full of chlorine and fluoride... My current weight is around 217-218.

Dude, your reasons are great and all and it's something I would like to do myself if I had the willpower.. But you can't go 31 days without any food. Your brain will start taking damage after just a few days, and god knows what kind of damage it'll do to the rest of your body as it starts to break down.. well, all of itself to be able to sustain itself. The point of fasting is to eat less, or limiting oneself to some special kind of food, not stop eating completely.

Eeyup. You're only supposed to fast for about a day, maybe two. Thirty one days will kill you, if not hospitalize (and cripple) you.

I've done less than this and it was extremely destructive to my mind and body.  Don't do it.

And if you want to lose weight, this isn't the way to do it.  It fucks up your hormone balance so you'll gain everything back really fast the minute you stop.

I dunno, one does work for free in a sense(Nobody is explicitly charged for services except renting whatever buildings they own and legal fees for legal ceremonies) and the other was paid to provide help.

Granted nobody deserved to have the whole insult strongarming deal done, and we all have downtimes. I would make a comment on this sounding like some crap my dad would pull off but last time he hired a lawyer his grumblings seemed more based around the opposition than the price of the services provided. I really should stop demeaning the guy so much.

You guys may be right, I'll take what you've said into consideration.

I've done less than this and it was extremely destructive to my mind and body.  Don't do it.

And if you want to lose weight, this isn't the way to do it.  It fucks up your hormone balance so you'll gain everything back really fast the minute you stop.

If you don't mind me asking, how long did you go without food and was any of the damage permanent?

I may have to stop this mainly because I can't document this to the level I would like. I'm sure some good data on starvation could be collected if I organized this better. Yes, maybe I will put it off until later.
