I can constantly hear a throbbing noise, kinda like when I can feel my heart beat. It won't stop.

This is a potential symptom of dangerously high blood pressure.

If you're a bit thin your heart can also be felt a lot more clearly.

Or stress. Or a great many number of things. In itself it's not specific enough to be panicking about anything in particular.

Fuck, I'm stressed.  I guess I'm not going to some of my courses today, either, and will have to get back to it on Monday.  There's just too much urgent work to be done today.

Gonna go pick up some 8 textbooks or summat, and then go home and get cracking.

It sounds like high blood pressure, it isn't necessarily dangerous though. Flue or cold can cause high blood pressure, it's usually temporary though.

Anything that elevates the body's temperature causes faster and therefore louder heartbeat.
If you're thin, as stated above, it is more clear as there is less dense tissue for the sound to travel through. It's not uncommon for a heartbeat to be sustained above normal ferocity/loudness- you may be dehydrated. Have water with electrolytes or at the very least, salt.

This coming from a redhead who has to drink electrolytic solutions come the Australian Summer. I don't even live in the tropical areas... and yet a 45C day can knock me flat and have me stuck indoors all day with a much louder and more powerful heartbeat from the constant dehydration...

Yea, no need to panic. But I would get my blood pressure checked at the local drug store. Anything over 160/100 is REALLY bad and you need to see a doctor right away if it lasts more than a day and anything over 130/90 is also bad and you should see a doctor if it is sustained for several days.

Hurrrrgh foot pain. Gonna try to stay off my feet for the weekend, as much as is practical, and they haven't got me on PMs next week. Which is, in a way, nice since I don't have to adjust my sleep schedule, but I was really looking forward to that.

On the plus side, due to a massive scheduling coincidence, I have both Thanksgiving and Christmas off without having to ask, despite being the lowest in seniority here. Which means I don't have to disappoint the family, which is good. I also work the days after, which means 2.5 times pay on those days. Holidays are the best.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I've probably got another 1,000 pages to read through the next week.

*sigh*

I'm so tired, but... back to work!

EDIT: I'm also scared, because I'm losing my temper in a way I haven't for months and months.  It's a combination of stress and lack of fish pills, I think.

*sigh*

I have to try even harder.

I've had a stinging pain on the upper right inside of my lips recentl. It stings like hell whenever I move that part of the lip, which is all of the time. Feeling around in there it seems like its either a sore, or more likel a cut. Im really hoping its not infected or some shit like that.

Baking soda or salt. Rub it in there, it cauterize it and stem the pain.

I am really glad right now that I'm not a person who drinks.  It would be a bad thing for the present situation.

Hm, good idea. I suppose drinking cans of Dr. Pepper doesn't really help with the pain, I just figured i'd wait it out buts its been like a week.

Yes, as a warning, it stings like hell when you rub the salt in it.
There's a reason for the expression "rubbing salt in the wound".

Yeah, I figured. But I can rub more salt in the salt to make the pain go away, right?
