Secondly, there's a difference between causing it, and furthering it. There are atheist homophobes.

How many arguments against Homosexuality have you heard from either an Atheist or Atheistic viewpoint?

I have no doubt that they exist, but how many of them exist compared to ones coming from religious people?
Plenty. Tends to come from the people who bash religion in one sentence, homosexuals in the next, then furries, etc etc. The type that hate pretty much everyone who doesn't fall exactly in line with their worldview.
'Course, I might be gettin' trolled by these people, being the internet and all.

Is it wrong for me to say religion causes homophobia?

Religion has to be the easiest justifications for Bigotry.
That's because it's the easiest justification for everything under the sun. God says so, so it must be right.

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

What about all three? A cultist furry who is homosexual? That would be overkill.

Imo, with people 'batting for the other team' as it were, I don't mind. I don't begrudge them their happiness. They aren't hurting anyone, etc... the list goes on.

Similar to religion, i'm fine with it as long as it isn't flaunted or pressed upon me.

Meanwhile, this guy Truean's talking about is among the worst fathers since Abraham in an alternate universe where God fell asleep and forgot to call off the whole "Sacrifice your son" thing. I'm not sure if I've successfully averted the religion tangent, but I like to hope so.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Is it wrong for me to say religion causes homophobia?
I shall answer your question with a similarly silly question: Is it wrong to profile criminals based on race?

In our fury towards bigots we suddenly come to the earth-shattering realization that this is a bigoted statement. Holy shit, another discovery on the path towards acceptance and peace. With this we might just be able to see our brothers and sisters as humans goring through the same conflicts and emotions as the rest of us.

(Except parents abandoning their children I have no goddam idea what is going on there. Can't be my religion.)

Ah, that's true. There are aspects of religion I enjoy. Christianity, as with 99% of other mainstream religions have their good parts and bad parts. I just felt a bit white-knight-y about Truean's friend...
Forgive my lapse in judgement.

Saw a quote the other day that made me happy.

"Homosexuality is found in over 450 species.
Homophobia is found in only one.

 Which one seems unnatural now?"

It's terrible to hear about what that girl is going through.  Wish there was something I could do.

It's a very touchy subject, and the guy is a gigantic ass. I'm afraid my whole post came off as overly condescending about this though, and I apologize for my outburst. We all just want to make the world a better place, and it's disheartening to see crap like this happen.

It's even more infuriating when crap like this happens and the perpetrator uses a distorted version of your belief system.

Wow. And to think, I thought America was the bee's knees.

It isn't. It's just as rife with problems as the rest of the world, some social, some economic, etcetera. Bigotry is very much alive in the States, as it is everywhere else.

Although compared to the racism my own people tend to engage in, theirs is more "angry racist", while ours is more "condescending racist". It's up to you which one is worse; both can lead to violence.

Some kind of oversteeped golden yunnan with a lot of brown sugar in it.  It's not great, but if I pretend, it almost tastes like coffee.

Brown sugar in tea... Is not something I have ever tried. Hmm, it is rather sweet and desertish, right? Maybe with mint tea, after dinner, might work well.

Fucking trolls.
There is not enough self-control in the world to refrain from going K4RK4T 1S TH4T YOU at those posts.

And note the multiple types of brown sugar, from simple less processed sugar to the super grainy brown sugar for oatmeal.
