Strangely I'm just sort of numb with stiff upper lip rather than sad about all of this, but:
1.) Clerk is not paying attention while I'm repeatedly doing her job for her, in front of her, in an effort to show her directly how. This would be that "experience" she wanted, because she will one day have to do this for a living.... Texting on her phone about the weekend? Not a priority now.... Does she realize how many people would kill for a job right now, including law students...? Why yes her daddy does pay the tuition in full and it shows....
2.) Operating on all cylinders with about 5 (3:30-8:30) hours of sleep from scanning/arranging 589 pages of evidence last night to file this morning. This is, again, clerk's job. Larger firms have entire staffs that do nothing but document prep for larger suits, I don't. O well. Screw it, I might work something out to get an additional clerk that actually does something.
3.) After scanning/arranging documents from 9:00PM until about 3:30AM last night, and appearing in court this morning, client insists I am, "not really doing anything." Meh...?
4.) Boss seems to think there is an "easy and free" way to get Adobe PDF editor software (not the reader). Not touching this one....
O, and did I mention a neighbor has told me a different [fully employed and ok] neighbor is stealing my newspaper? Fabulous.... Am I gonna have to engage in wacky hi jinx a la string, camera and striking out a deal with paperboy to tie in string to camera or some equally BS thing? Actually that sounds complicated and stupid, I could just wake up early, camp out behind the door and open it mid paper-swipe.... Meh.
