Sauerkraut has exactly one purpose, bratwurst.  And even then, it exists as a pallet compliment to mustard, if I feel like eating anything besides brats and cheese in the first place.

I like sauerkraut, it is most awesome as part of a reuben sandwich.

Wait, do you mean pallet (=mattress made of straw) or pallid (=pale, washed out), Aqizzar?

It's good stuff, depending on how it's prepared. The bland kind is horrible.

I got caught in some really nasty rain today and was drenched for the entire trip to class and the class itself. Added in my father calling me to tell me it's raining that that I'll get sick. And this isn't the concerned "Oh, don't catch a cold now." It's an aggressive "DON'T GET SICK WHY ARE YOU WET YOU'LL GET SICK LISTEN DON'T TALK IT WAS RAINING YOU'LL GET SICK YOU ARE WET." I was somehow able to convince him that he doesn't need to pick me up to get a change of clothes, which would make me late for class. And I forgot my MP3 player for these hour and a half bus rides.

I was able to dry off by the end of class and purchase some warm tomato soup from the college cafeteria. Even if I do get sick it's usually just mild discomfort, nothing overtly debilitating. I don't understand why my father is so concerned about a cold when I usually brush through those in a day.

Same thing wrong with everyone else in this instance, I suppose.  Do you like it?

Dunno, but a nice pan fried sandwich dripping corned beef sauerkraut, cheese and dressing brings me joy.

Perhaps the good politico meant "palette"? As in, he wants to paint a bed of straw with the juices of saurkraut?

Wait, do you mean pallet (=mattress made of straw) or pallid (=pale, washed out), Aqizzar?

I bet it was Palate, as in the part of the mouth, and the general sense of taste.
Ninja: wait, was my sarcasm and general silliness radar malfunctioning?

I for one love crisp, vinegary saurkraut on sandwiches, and will actually eat it on its own as a side dish too. I never knew that watermelon was a good source of iron, but research backs that claim up. I'm going to be eating more of it!

As long as he's eating properly palatial portions, in order to punk-proof his physical proportions, I don't think anyone minds.

... So I opine.
