I think it's subjective on where it's used, much like today. Depending on where it is said it could mean different things.

I'm talking about gay as a word and it's historical context, not rule34.

 It will never survive.

 I'll make sure of it.

Someone will think it, which is the first step towards making it and obeying rule 34 in this context. Someone out there will take Fred and Barny and just.... O god.... Just.... My brain is going to shut down to protect itself until I pour on the brain bleach.

This was actually one of the very first things I ever found, when I was 12 and first tried searching for porn on the Internet.  That was a harrowing experience.

Aw, crap.
And now that my uncle has discovered that I own a tarot deck, the next few days will be about "the dangers of opening oneself to black magic".
I hope I'll manage to stay reasonable, when faced with massive amounts of bible-logic.

Gay woman = prostitute, gay man = womaniser, gay house = brothel.

But if you get a French Tarot deck you can mess around with predictions AND have a damn fine card game to play as well.

All those numbers are dates. The first one: 1178, "full of joy or mirth,".... You're digging through obscure slang that was hardly in widespread use. No dude, gay originally meant happy and that was its widespread use.

It gives 7 definitions and those aren't listed as any of them.... Obscure old timey slang does not meaning make....

You're totally proving my case for me:

Even so, are you actually defending the derogatory use?

You mean, why is he acting slightly more like a nutjob than usual?

Because he used to play a sort of cardgame when he was younger, to determine how a trade would go and "see where it has gotten him".
Not to mention he has some video recording of a priest talking about how this is the stepping stone to devil-worship and black magic.
He's also worried about my immortal soul, which I'm tainting by posessing it, which will either net me a long time in purgatory or in the worst case a eternity in hell.

Oh, sorry I misunderstood it.

Well, I was always interested in folklore and the deck came with a nice book, containing a lot about russian history and culture.
The deck itself is beautifully designed, 78 miniature paintings in the style of russian icons.
I only recently discovered my love for russian icon painting and it's simply a pleasure to look at the masterfully designed cards.

I thought Tarot reading was an interesting skill to have.
I've read about it being used in Psychology, as a tool for self-knowledge and I have to say it helped me at times to articulate my thoughts, desires and self-perception.

I stumbled upon it on the interenet. Combining a very reasonable price, with my own curiosity created an offer I simply couldn't resist.

Screw my misgivings, he's now my favorite character.  Along with Van, the cranky little asshole.

Homeworld party is the best party <3

I've always hoped to get involved in Tarot some time, though I don't know if I'd do actual readings.  The cards and ideas are beautiful, but I'm generally too much of a skeptic.

Kind of wish I had more attachment to the spiritual world, to be honest.

No, merely pointing out the slang has been around for a long time.

Mindmaker, not trying to be rude, but using tarot decks for divination is the first step to devil worship.

It might not taint your soul by the mere ownership of it, but using it for telling the future would come under conjuring of spirits. Russian icons, though? Russian Orthodox, I take it?

Probably due to sleeping habits. I know I go to sleep either at 8:00 pm or 2:00 am.

I'm going to say this here and now, I'm a Catholic, so understand that I may be very unsypathetic at times.
