I'm not so sure, given that it seems that dead party members don't get the bonuses.

Stars, yes, leveling up, no.

But... oh well!  I'll just play with the people I like best :I

Oh, true, dead ones don't. Hang on, I'm going to look it up because now I want to know.

EDIT: Answer to be PM'd just cause of the derailing

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Vector which Final Fantasy are you playing? Is it III? I loved III.

My presence here is heresy as I could come with nothing that made me sad today, except... oh, yeah. I took my medicine earlier, and still am not even a bit sleepy. My medicine is for some reason no longer putting me to sleep, even with exercise and work and other things in my day. This is worrying.

DDD:

I'm going under surgery tomorrow early in the morning to take out wisdom teeth. I'm actually...really scared. Even if I don't have any reason to be, considering technology nowadays. It might be just the needles, though. I am absolutely terrified of needles.

EDIT: Also, Soulwynd got muted. :-\

I once had this done. Made it through. Hope this helps.

I wouldn't worry.  I had an adverse reaction to the initial rounds of anesthetic (gave me a panic attack) and the general anesthesia (made me hallucinate in a pretty nasty way), and the painkillers (codeine, hahahahaha) they gave me were totally nonfunctional.  All the same, though, it only took a week to be healed all the way, and the pain really wasn't too bad.  That, and I got to eat lots of ice cream and smoothies.  You'll be okay!

I've actually been anesthetized before. It was weird, though. I can't even remember being anesthetized. I just remember being stuck with needles...and then waking up and going home groggily. Yeah, I should be okay, but I need to remember not to watch the needles being put in. In any case, thanks, Vector and Truean.

I think I just lost all the data on my hard drive.

All my pictures, all my music, all my files, all my backups.

 All of it. Gone.

Edit: not gone, but my computer is in a very weird place right now. all the stuff is there bar possible missing desktop folders, but I have no way of making these folders into accounts again. There is going to be a ton of moving around and fixingto get this messmsorted out.

But some degree of normalcy is here I guess.

That's because anesthetics inhibit most of your brain's functionality. The actual anesthetic being administered would still be in short-term memory when it took effect, preventing the memory of the administration from being recorded in your long-term memory.

It's different case by case. Anesthetics is more of an art and a field of experience. In my case, I went on a major surgery about 10 years ago. And I still remember before putting under the anesthetist told me to count back from 20. And then I can feel the world and the talking around me became slowly merged like sinking underwater. The next thing after that I remembered is that I was in the recovering room, and nurses talking, but it was like you are trying to waking up and can't get up. My family said I stay at ICU there about 3 days, but it felt like several on and off minutes. (Or at least the part I remembered)

I got my wisdom teeth out a few days ago, actually.  You take a sedative an hour in advance, they put the IV in (the sedative makes sure you barely even notice), you fall asleep, you wake up and go home.  The surgery is actually the easy part.  This is coming from someone who hates needles, too.  It's really not that bad, don't worry.

Of the 3 times I've been anesthetized, I think the first managed to give my brain a permanent not-liking of needles. Supposedly I woke up in the middle, which are generally not pleasant experiences. Though whether or not I actually remember it is questionable; I "remember" similar circumstances as to what supposedly occurred, but chances are just as well that my brain fabricated the memory after being told about it. Funny thing about memory; the more you learn about it, the less you trust the treacherous bugger.

But in any case, it's pretty rare, more or less so depending on how experienced the anesthesiologist is.

As someone who also has an aversion to needles, what may help, depending on the severity, is a low dose of some other substance, usually laughing gas or similar, to get you spaced out enough your brain simply ceases to care. Worked for me anyway, and needles usually make me pass out.
