So you're crazy, but at least you're not worried about being crazy. That's actually a good state of being, IMHO.

See, I wasn't trying to out-weird anyone.  I was actually expecting high on avoidant and low on everything else.  The schizoid stuff was a surprise, though it seems that one gets high scores there just from

a. Knowing one is weird
b. Enjoying it.

See, I wasn't trying to out-weird anyone.
And I was just looking for an excuse to post that comic.
Even though the sad thread may be a bit inappropriate.

I dont take personality disorders too seriously. Granted, there are extreme cases that fit the bill, but I think it's probably overdiagnosed, often with very subjetive criteria as a basis. Add to this that there is not much of a treatment and I fail to see the point in this stuff, except as a category in which to fit those obvious, extreme cases, which behave in certain ways consistently and dont have mental illness as an excuse.

I have become what I have long feared to be: a person who is academically smart, but also one who cannot socialize worth a damn. What is the point of knowing things when you don't know how to share them? I can research things and say facts and make points, but throughout every debate I have a massive disconnect with the actual thread of conversation. I can make jokes and converse among friends, but as soon as I walk into a room where I don't know anyone, I panic and go off to read a book by myself. I can do group projects alone at twice the speed of actual groups, but I have nobody to socialize with in the process. I have friends, but I cannot seem to make new ones. I think I have a thread to revive.

Welcome to my world a couple of years ago.

Now I just tell weird stories and make bad puns until everyone is too confused to do anything but regard me with affection.

Oh, I forgot the daily sad.

The 29-year-old guy I had a crush on, and with whom my classmates were trying to set me up, has a girlfriend; I found out about this because she apparently got appendicitis while moving in with him this weekend.

So yup.

On the other hand, I have an extremely recursive essay written in German.

On the other hand, I have an extremely recursive essay written in German.
curiosity:=piqued

We were supposed to write about what we'd be if we weren't human.

I picked "the essay I am currently writing about what I'd be if I wasn't human."  Cue the first sentence being "if I were an essay, I'd be recursive," moving on to wondering about my origins and parentage, what I was before I was "born," dancing on the scaffold of human inquiry, etc.  And, at the end:

And now, I am alive.

And when you have forgotten me, I will die.

I don't know what I was thinking, but I imagine I'm frustrated with Liebeskummer.
