If somebody truly does change, and goes out, and doesn't just start torturing people again, then fuck yes they deserve to walk~
Of course, with more serious offenders, they'll walk out on a sort of parole~
With someone to watch them, and check up on them regularly~
Just like any other mental illness, regular check-ups and professional help is key~

Ugh. I have the shittiest mood, and I don't know if I'm really just in a shitty mood, or if I just want attention, and part of my brain is just piping up and telling me the two are the same fucking thing anyway.

Indonesia is. Wouldn't you like to vacation in glorious Indonesia?
Full moon party is in  Indonesia, so hell yes I would!

The want or need to murder or rape is often caused by mental instabilities~
As it is, people shun murderers and rapists, effectively giving them a sub-human status~
We need, need, NEED this to stop, and for programs to be put in place to give these people HELP~
They need mental help, not punishment~
Punishment doesn't work, nor does censorship~
I don't give a damn who it is, they do NOT deserve to rot in prison~
Even the most violent or sociopathic murderers and rapists are better off in a mental institution~
Similarly, fuck the sex offender registry~
It ruins people's lives and I fucking hate it~
Well arn't you little miss left wing.  :P

So they get essentially no penalties for their actions? What, are the victims supposed to dismiss this as some sort of accident?

I hate when people overrate life, you know? Murderers and rapists are a danger to mankind and should just be disposed of quickly and neatly so they can't bother anyone again. If they haven't done anything yet, sure, they can be changed. But if they have, no. Think of it, someone commits a murder, stays some time in prison and then goes to live a happy life again. Is that fair?

Wow, I just don't even... You have a very shallow view of human life, the human mind, the legal system, morals and human rights, all in one small post. Impressive!

Fuck, what did it register? Any links?

Indeed~ :b

As for the victims, what do they get out of the offender rotting in prison?~
Smug satisfaction at the fact that the other person is suffering for the rest of their life?~
Point is, it's not like it's going to be any different on their end~
As for the offender, yes, the worst people won't change and will stay in the institution~
It's still better than prison~
Need I remind you of the Declaration of Independence?
Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness?~

Kinda difficult when you or your greatest friend is dead.

I'll ask again, where does this leave the victims? Someone shanks you in the spine, crippling you for life, essentially making sure you become a talking vegetable? Don't worry, he won't do it again. ::)

Human life: I have seen enough of it to know that only a handful of lives are important. The world is overpopulated anyway.
Human mind: Even if they change, that means that they pretty much haven't been punished at all. Ok, I'm going to go murder someone now. A few years in an asylum: totally worth it.
Legal system: I'm not talking about the legal systems of any country, I'm talking from a purely philosophical viewpoint.
Morals: We choose our morals. You can't judge all morals as one concept.
Human rights: Human rights are related to the legal system.
Impressive! : yeah, I know, say I'm really something.

And, the most important argument: killing someone quickly and painlessly is much more ethical than keeping them locked up for the entire life. I'd, personally, prefer to be shot.

I'll ask again, where does this leave the victims? Someone shanks you in the spine, crippling you for life, essentially making sure you become a talking vegetable? Don't worry, he won't do it again. ::)

It changes nothing~
What's done is done, and no amount of punishment will change that~

Whether or not it will change that, it is still deserved.

Killing him will change it. He won't murder anyone again. Do you realize how many murderers there were if they knew that it'll only put them in jail for some time?

Whether or not it will change that, it is still deserved.
This. That's why I consider my view point to be the most moral.
