Nope, too late now. BRB, telling the Navy to bomb Sydney into the ground and hanging up Mission Accomplished banners on all the aircraft carriers. At the same time.

Am I unpatriotic if I think bombing Sydney wouldn't be so bad for Australian Culture?

From Bad Taste (Movie):
Quote
Derek: "The Aliens have wiped out a small town for starters. Who knows what they'll do next? Christchurch? Wellington?..."
Barry: "Auckland?"
Derek: "Well, that wouldn't be so bad..."

I think every country has a city most people would like to see nuked to hell.

It would kill the bloke in a trenchcoat and no shoes who was slapping random girl's butts, at least.

Since i've lived in Sydney I've seen - on the street, for the first time :-

A chick with her jeans around her ankles shooting heroin into her groin.

A naked old bearded dude ranting as he wandered down the street.

It's all classy here (mind you I moved here in 2001, so that's not "everyday" stuff). Both these were in broad daylight on George St.

And seeing these things did make me sad, so it's more on-topic than the rest of my blathering.

Australia doesn't have rabies either, due to a very good quarantine service, and remoteness. How did Sweden dodge that particular bullet?
Same as you. Except not remoteness. The Swedish "state veterinarians" is one of the oldest governmental organisations still in business for a reason ;)
Of course, since EU has forced us to lower border/smuggling control (not that the state wasn't busy doing it anyway, EU just made it easier), all kind of nasty stuff that didn't exist before (or had been exterminated) have been appearing, as people smuggle animals and other shit without realising what the hell it it means. For example, the extensive dog smuggling (fucking chihuahuas) have meant that selfish idiots don't put their dogs in quarantine, and now we have Echinococcosis and can't eat mushrooms and berries in the forest anymore. And that's like, at least 65% of the Swedish national identity right there. Picking berries and mushrooms (and eating them, of course). Fuck, what use is the All Man's Law if there's no berries to eat?

I fucking hate shortsighted people.  This should really go in the RAEG thread because now I want to kill somebody. At least I can find comfort in that most likely, those bastards who bought smuggled, parasite-ridden dogs most likely got Echinococcosis themselves. I fucking hope so, at least.

And that was just CBD! You should see the west suburbs at night time.

I'm wondering how anyone would get that tolerant of heroin without dying of it first. The only thing above that I can think of would be injecting it directly into your heart and/or brain stem.

Well, I did see this half-naked old man pissing on someone's parked car here in the Phils, but then (thankfully) a young woman (grand-daughter?) dragged him away.

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Oh, yeah, here's another thing to be sad about:

Apparently, a man arrested for murder was seen driving out of prison. His excuse? He had a dental appointment.

I know it's sorta old but it made me really sad.

I blame corruption, lack of manpower, stupidity and a general sense of derpiness one gets from anything even remotely government-related here in the good old Philippines.

The worst part was that I was talking to someone and the naked dude started to talk to me! I just froze and did NOT look down.

Hmmm... Crazy, naked, Beard, (probably) drunk ... It all fits ... except he was too tall.

Set him on fire if you see him again, that will tell us for sure. (I am not advising you to set a man on fire. Any incident of you setting people on fire is in no way legally related to this post.)

I clicked a link to a past thread here about transhumanism and longevity.  While I always take some selfish pride in reading diatribes that I don't remember writing, a lot of them revolved around the fact that I'm terrified by the prospect that I will one day die.  I honestly cannot say that is as true now as it was in the matter of months ago that it was written.  I have distinctly specific reasons for that, which alleviates it a bit, but I'm having an increasingly hard time going through each day without being reminded of what a grim period of my life this is.  All I can do is try not to dwell on it, and remember that it's ultimately not that bad.

I'm also kinda sad the thread about "Don't Ask Don't Tell" was locked, because I just thought up some stuff to say in it, since I had put it out of mind as a flame-fest.  But oh well, it's gone now.

Would you expect any less from the guy that made LCS? I'm surprised Toady didn't deploy nerds with swords to reap vengeance.

The thing about death which scares me the most is that it would upset my Mom, sisters and my dad. I don't want to die first coz I don't want them getting upset :/ other than that it doesn't really scare me. Maybe that's weird, I don't know.
