I'd have been in the Navy if I hadn't flucked the physical.

Still way too expensive.

I don't know why I can go into any local general store or pharmacy and buy reading glasses for $3 but distance glasses are so expensive.

Reading glasses don't have to be custom made; they are essentially just a pair of magnifying glasses which can be worn. Corrective glasses must be created based on the person's diagnosed vision problems; tailor made vs mass produced.

I just had to go get new glasses the other day and even with insurance they were expensive. Plus I have to wait another week for them to get ordered and shipped.

Plus the fact that I wouldn't be able to get through an eye exam without a pretty major panic attack. Meh, these ones will do anyways.

Yeah... I'm lucky because I'm covered under my father's health insurance.  Really, really lucky.

And so, even though it's basically whining, I'll say that my problem is not with lenses but with frames.  My vision has pretty much stabilized.  My issue is that I like large lenses, my frames are going downhill, and frames for women that aren't fashionably narrow-lensed with big honking arms (seriously, why the hell) are pretty much impossible to get.  Not to mention that the salesperson always tries to sell me something to make me look cute.

I do not want to look cute, dear.  I want to look either like one of those dudely scientists with awesome square frames or, you know, myself.

Follow-up from the happy thread: I tried another flip and landed on my neck and shoulders. I have to look almost straight up. It is physically painful to look to the left, and looking to the right feels like there is a lot of resistance. I've got scrapes and cuts on my neck that make it hurt to let my head sit at a normal level.

You really shouldn't be trying that stuff without a well-padded surface to land on until you've mastered it.

I thought I was the grand master of all time because I pulled one off from a stand still jump, where normally I need speed and a platform. I have seen the fruits of my hubris, but woe, for I have breached the heavens in my lofty flight and been cast down by Zeus. For the record, the lightning bolt of Zeus is the sound made when an over-confident post-hipster fails a back flip on wet soil.

You're contradicting yourself there.

I am sorry if this is a stupid question, but should you not be seeking medical aid?

Haha, thank you.  Well, I'm sure you know what I meant, anyway =)

I think you may wish to secure any points of ingress your home may have, Vector, as it is yet unclear how Japa knows that you are cute.

Hasn't Vector been in the Photo thread somewhere likely buried pages and pages back now?

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.
