If the world was easy, we would be fucked. We need challenge no matter what and it will always exist even to the smallest matter as a single cell organism struggling to survive.

Like now, i have to spend a hour to travel to my girlfriend's house as my only transportation is the bus and my bike. I do it because it makes her happy that i am spending time with her as for me. Its tiring as hell to get there but the reward is worth it.

Why does "following your dreams" have to be hard?
I never thought I would be paid for playing with fire. When I started eight years ago learning how to spin I did not even know how to dance in the slightest. Now, I don't earn enough to get by solely by performing, but it's something, and it's what I love to do.

Part of everyone's biggest fear is following their dreams and doing their utmost best and still failing. When you cultivate the courage to get over that fear of pain or not being arbitrarily "good enough", then you can move on with enjoying life.

Things that made me sad today...

A woman is more likely to be raped than learn to read in South Africa.

One in three women admits to having been raped at least once in South Africa.

One out of four schoolchildren describe gang rape as "fun" in South Africa. More than 70% of men who acknowledged having raped started before they were 20 in South Africa.

There are 500,000 reported rapes happening every year in South Africa.

There are 67,000 reported rape of children or INFANTS every year in South Africa. Aid groups believe that there could be ten times as many unreported rapes of children and infants there. The group the most at risk and with the largest increase in terms of rape victimhood are children 7 years or younger in South Africa. Many South African grown men believe that the cure for aids is to rape infants.

Those are all different links. Can we... can we just nuke South Africa from orbit?

Actually they believe that raping any kind of virgin can cure AIDS.

Probably a bit more accurate to say that more tribal areas with some odd shamans and not much aid help can hold this belief as opposed to all of Africa.

Still a lot of terrible stuff going on over there.

One would think that at one point somebody would notice "Hmm, oh, I appear to still have AIDS. Maybe it didn't work? I think I should tell my friends about this"

But noooo.

You'll have to specify which African countries too, like the war-torn ones or the ones very open to foreign aid or the ones who have governments in the shitters.

Yes, clearly they are mentally inferior to the civilized peoples of the world.  It has nothing to do with lingering superstitions (and/or superstition-prone institutions?) and dismally poor education. ::)

But wouldn't that kill the rape victims as well? Not everything can be solved by throwing bombs at it. In fact, few things are.

Hush, you.  The genocide of inferior cultures is the time-honored tradition of history's greatest empires.

I half expected that video to be a link to one of those videos of Hitler played at high speed with Benny Hill music sounding in the background.
