My God, my damn computer is riddled with some sort of virus shit, and it occasionally plays audio with no source.

My speakers used to do that, but that was because of an exposed wire. That and they were from the very earliy 90's. I just replaced them last year. They picked up signals from literally everything that came near. Hunters on walkie-talkies, the ambulances driving by, police scanners... once I even picked up the radio of an airliner flying overhead. The best one, though, was when I started picking up the local radio station. Whenever I changed the volume, I picked up a different frequency, and eventually I got signals from incredibly far away. It was either downright magical or really sensitive.

I know all about that. My speakers are very good, but had an extremely short wire on them, so I spliced 15' of speaker wire into the cord. My house is is only a short hop from the expressway. The result is that I constantly picked up CB transmissions.

My speakers pick up a Christian rock station. The lower I turn down the volume, the louder it gets, even with no other audio. This is why I always use my headphones.
