If it makes you feel any better, arguing on internet forums is completely futile. You do not make the world a worse place by ignoring them.

It isn't completely futile, because I now have a place that is only vaguely sexist rather than consistently overtly sexist.

Seen any Life Advice threads complaining about PMS recently?  I haven't.  Maybe they've been deleted before I could get to them.  It seems like people are starting to actually pay attention to the things they say.

But in any case, as much as this place can suck sometimes, it's gotten a lot better over the past couple of years.  Decidedly more queer-friendly and so on.

Aright. I will take your word on that then.

Something that is completely disconnected with the current conversation and comes from my life:

I wish that people:
Talked like this.
Were more honest.
Did not wiggle around when we talk.

That's not gonna happen. Language is pretty much hopelessly flawed. It's impossible to say something that means exactly what you want it to mean. It's impossible not to make missteps that imply things you didn't intend (which accounts for a lot of the wiggling around, really).

I do wish people would willfully and maliciously distort the truth less, though.

And therein lies my problem. Telepathy is the future, comrades.

Bah. People still are not going to be straight. Not until we find out what we want.

People don't really need to "Contribute" anything. All that's really important is that they can find some happiness in their lives.

What if we find happiness from contributing something?

Well, thankfully it was just one crazy woman and the painting was unharmed.

One seriously crazy woman.

Saying you don't need to contribute something doesn't mean contributing is out of the question, or even in any way inferior to not doing so.

Is it bad that I imagined that in a stereotypical Southern African American lady's accent?
