I can't turn on the fucking radio without hearing a song that goes exactly like this

"I'M IN LOVE WITH SOMEBODY *spit out some absolute garbage lyrics for the nest minute* "

WHY MUST THE RADIO BE SO SHIT!?

Give Pandora or Slacker a go.
Are they radio stations and do they broadcast in Adielade (or however you spell it)

Pandora and Slacker are online radio.  Pandora's awesome.  I've never tried Slacker, but I suspect it's also awesome.  I think Last.fm is similar, but again I've never tried it.

All three of them are awesome.
Last is how I got into symphonic and power metal.
It used to be all I knew was Blind Guardian and Demons & Wizards.

We don't have a single chair in our house that gives adequate spinal support, when sitting in front of the PC.
Always backpain, after I spend some time in front of it.

I'd like to leave this place for a few days, so that I can calm down, but I don't have any friends offline to do fun things with and the other place I hang out hasn't been providing as much distraction as I'd hoped.

Maybe I'll get to work on that Twilight fanfic.

Thanks for the offer.  I'll consider it.

Basically the reason I came back so quickly...
I'm so tired of looking for youtube videos or a lolcat, to send to my MSN contacts, just to have a pretense to talk to them.
One should be able to hold a unstrained conversation.

First, it should be illegal for a game as complicated as Arma 2 to have AI this bad.

Second, with AI this bad it should be illegal to have mandatory tank missions, because the AI is too stupid to do its job unless every crew-member is AI.  It's pretty much "Do you want to drive, shoot the main gun, or kill infantry?  Pick one, because the other two functions will be performed by dumbasses"

It's not quite as bad when you're doing infantry or something, but tanks require a lot of coordination that doesn't happen if it's leashed to a human who has to tell everyone exactly what to do through a sometimes cumbersome interface.

Likewise, although I'm the sort to, having made that offer, utterly fail to follow through appropriately, leading to naught but awkward silence. On the plus side, I've gotten awkward silence down to practically an art form. Anyway, hope there's less rage-inducing stuff in the near future, and know that at least one person is always happy to see somebody taking a stand for something that seems so fundamentally obvious that there really shouldn't be a necessity to actually take a stand for it in the first place.

But there is such a need, and that makes me sad, thus justifying this post.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
