Australian game censorship made me sad today. You can get 18+ rated movies, music and more but you can't get an 18+ game for some reason.

It isn't censorship. There is no 18+ rating, so anything that cannot be classified in the subordinate categories cannot be sold, since an unclassified game cannot be sold in Australia.

And that... isn't censorship?

Saying "You can't publish/distribute/sell any media that meets these content criteria. -signed- The Government" seems to be the very definition of censorship, no? -_o

True, it's not censorship. It's being governed by a horde of knuckleheads that wriggle around things by making them not be legally classifiable, thus untradeable.

In both cases they cannot be sold, yes. However, there was some recent vote on the introduction of an 18+ rating. Not sure how that went.

That is pretty much the definition of censorship.

I know this sounds extreme, but I want to strangle that bastard with his own XloinclothX. What's worse is that every time a game is censored and people oppose it, he uses the "WAAAAH! THINK OF THE CHILDRENZ!1111!" argument.

EVERY.

FUCKING.

TIME.

Well, I'm nauseated and my Russian teacher just pulled me aside to inform me that the people I had been working with in class were friends, so I might want to sit elsewhere.  Vector 0, occasionally crushing social inadequacy 1.

Time to take my Russian exam.  Then I'm going to go home, because I can barely communicate in spoken English.  The worst thing about getting sick is that it pretty much immediately knocks out my speech centers.
