It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Ran away from my very first shiny pokemon because I didn't know it was shiny. u_u
I knocked out my first one I think because I didn't realize it was special.  I eventually found other shiny ones and caught each one.

What's so damn special about shinies?
1 in 8192 chance of finding one.

And what else?

I guess it's just the rarity that makes them so valuable.

So it's just an idiotic gimmick from the devs/marketing crew to make you grind and hunt down the little bastards just because they're shiny and uncommon? Nice.

A stats bonus would've been more expected though.

If I remember, shinies typically have mediocre stats, since it's a particular configuration of hidden stat values that makes them shiny. Or something.

But no. I think you'd have to be insane to grind for one. In all the many hours I played those games I only ever encountered two. It takes hundreds of hours just to find one. No one has that much time.

Most people just cheat for them, I think.

If you collect all 649 of them the gameboy unlocks and a coupon for one point two metric tons of gold, your own TV show, and fifty percent of the stock in Nintendo falls out.

You do realize that you've just made a lot of people go on a wild goose chase to the Kuiper belt, don't you?

Yeah, but the gold gives you seizures and the TV show is a game show where you solve physics equations while hanging from a helicopter trying to catch ducklings that the host is throwing into the mouth of an open volcano.

Not worth it.

Why would the gold give seizures?

Anyway, a stupid game show would be totally worth it to be filthy stinking rich.
