I'm sorry to hear that. It's really unsettling when you find out about these things. The little part in your brain that keeps you from going insane with worry or suspicion always tells you that these things happen to other people, but when it does happen to someone you know, it really wrecks your mind and heart.

The only problems that go away are annoying asshats and trolls.
Real problems only worsen over time, either becoming impossible to address, exacerbating, or giving rise to other problems of their own.

Not so much that as the fact that I'm over 6', look like a retired lumberjack and my expression defaults to "murderface" when relaxed.

But yeah... I tend to overlook those the fact that not everyone is a massive dude that looks like he's in a white supremacist gang. Asshats tend to reconsider annoying such people for extended time.

Depends on the problem.  Attention to some problems is difficult without giving them validation or even ending up a participant, necessarily resulting in their continued existence.
