My middle name is the name of the road we lived on until I was five.

My first name was a tossup between what it actually is, and Martin.

To be honest, I'm glad I didn't get Martin, though I imagine it'd be different if I were named Martin.

I have a Polish last name that I will never be able to publish any fiction under. At least any fiction that isn't entirely pretentious and forever to remain unread.

Oh well, I just stole the name of British codebreaker Alan Stripp for my pen name. I spell Alan differently though.

My last name is prone to violent abuse at the hands of everyone who was it before they heard it.

Both of my names are completely safe. My cousin, on the other hand, had his first name as the street he was born on- Yes, he was born in the car on the way to hospital.
We call him 'Flocky'. What a name.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

My last name is hyphenated. It's component names are an old term for a resident of wales and a corruption of a common name sported by a number of European kings.

I did dislocate my knee yesterday, effecting horrendous pain to myself. Today I discovered that this will continue to happen, until I have finished growing and they operate to replace my knee-cap.

I'm fortuitous to have my last name, as it is an extremely common last name and also slang for 'penis'. Fortunately, I've managed to avoid any childhood tormenting for this fact, but now I can say, "Yeah, so?" to people who call me a dick. Kind of like I can to people who call me a bastard (because, by chance, I'm one of those, too). Tremble, world, before my uninsultable nature!

Also you share a name with Philip motherfucking Dick which is cause for rejoicing right there.

Ouch. My former history teacher had a problem with her kneecaps. They kept moving to the wrong side of her knees.

On Names: If you go to meanings, my name is Man, God is Gracious. *And whatever the fuck "Gallichan" means*
Andrew John Gallichan, for those not into etymology. Nearly everyone on my father's side of the family has John as a middle name. Except for those who have it as a first.
