I had the weirdest dream. Somebody shot me in the head, so I had to try to arrange the scene to make it look like a suicide for some reason.

I never imagined my brain could be this gory or simulate the concept of a hole in my head so well.

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

Burek is a meat pie -.-
It's also what you would call a mongrel in polish.
'Bury', should mean as much as 'grayish', I believe.

Kicius is "kitty" in a masculine tone.

Pretty much. Not sure about the masculine tone, though.

I'd say it's a neuter term.
Will look it up at home.

Strictly speaking, it's male. Female would be "kicia", but some people use either one, regardless of the actual gender.

I just cut a crapload out of a really solid essay to try and get it down to near word count, and am still 500 words over. I'll probably have to cut another 200-300 before my professor will accept it. I've already discarded a page's worth of good points; how much more do you want from me? D:

I understand a minimum word count but a maximum? I really don't see why tutors do that apart from being to lazy to read something some one has obviously slaved over.

Last time I was presented with a maximum word limit I purposely went over it by ~5000 words. Passed as well.

Or something like that.

The name pretty much got hit with a smear campaign when the Missionaries moved into Finland.
That's pretty much the exact reason why the Pagan symbol for safety against evil is now the Christian symbol for devil worship. Just wiki'd 'Pentacle'. Apparently that was accidental.

But hey, dem was dark days in religion.

Less cynically, the purpose is to give you preactice at condesing your points into a more readable format. It's really, really easy to pad something out, or be overly verbose due to lack of eloquence. It's much, much harder to say everything you need to say in the amount of time someone will pay attention to it. That's a big reason, for example, why political campaigns focus so much on attack ads. It's too hard to compress the planks of their platform to fit in a 30-second window, so they go after the other guy.
